Historia
Dessert with Buddha takes the eccentric, sort-of-Buddhist monk, Volya Rinpoche, and his skeptical, middle-of-the-road brother-in-law, Otto Ringling, on another enlightening road trip filled with meals, humor, social commentary, and good times. On this journey, the couple that traveled from New York to North Dakota in Breakfast with Buddha, Seattle to North Dakota in Lunch with Buddha, and North Dakota to Las Vegas in Dinner with Buddha heads down the Eastern Seaboard from Boston to points south.

Historia
Now, in a fascinating series of reflections, anecdotes, stories, and exercises, Ram Dass gives us a unique and accessible road map for experiencing divinity in everyday life. In the engaging, conversational style that has made his teachings so popular for decades, Ram Dass traces our journey of consciousness as it is reflected in one of Hinduism's most sacred texts. The Gita teaches a system of yogas, or "paths for coming to union with God."

Decent basic information with an awful narration
Revisado: 02-27-23
Overall, this book has decent information about a foundational Hindu spiritual book, the Gita. If you like personal narrative mixed with information, you might like this book. The book is as much about the Gita as it is about Ram Dass’ devotion to his guru. I had a very hard time getting through this book because of the narration. The narrator could not pronounce key words. And I am being polite. He butchered the pronunciation. Whoever chose this narrator should be fired. It is malpractice. If you are clueless about the pronunciation, you will not be bothered by this disgraceful narration. If you want a better introduction to the Gita, Eknath Easwaran is one of best teachers.

Historia
In his critically acclaimed novel Under Heaven, Guy Gavriel Kay told a vivid and powerful story inspired by China’s Tang Dynasty. Now, the international best-selling and multiple award-winning author revisits that invented setting four centuries later with an epic of prideful emperors, battling courtiers, bandits and soldiers, nomadic invasions, and a woman battling in her own way, to find a new place for women in the world - a world inspired this time by the glittering, decadent Song Dynasty.

Historia
The purpose of this book is to clarify, to tell the truth, and to share my energies with you so that you can begin the transformation of your mind and, therefore, the transformation of your heart and your world. It is in the misteachings that have been associated with my name that much death and pain has been caused and that much guilt and self-recrimination has been expressed. That was not my purpose; that was not my lesson.

Better understanding of the true Jesus
Revisado: 04-17-21
I have always felt the mainstream story about Jesus was not true. I felt this version of Jesus is real. I know that many people will disagree. That is OK. I wish them love and peace.

In this provocative and inspiring audiobook, David Richo distills 30 years of experience as a therapist to explain the underlying roots of unhappiness - and the surprising secret to finding freedom and fulfillment. There are certain facts of life that we cannot change - the unavoidable "givens" of human existence: (1) everything changes and ends, (2) things do not always go according to plan, (3) life is not always fair, (4) pain is a part of life, and (5) people are not loving and loyal all the time.

Awful
Revisado: 02-11-18
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I looked at the reviews and I am puzzled at the positive reviews because this audible is awful. It would be helpful for someone whose has no experience with self improvement. It is very simplistic. You can find better material on the internet for free. I wish that I could return it.
