Great story, but
Revisado: 04-28-25
the story is great, the narration is awesome. I really wanted to love this book based on these two factors. Unfortunately the MC made loving it impossible. I don't care that he isn't OP I don't care that he fumbles around making some rather stupid decisions especially at first, because he's overwhelmed. I mean ok he's an office worker thrown into a situation where some soldiers would be overwhelmed at first. What does irritate me to no end is how whiny and immature the MC is. constantly crying like a child over his loses. He's got to be in his mid to late twenties since he graduated university and then worked his job for five years so why is his emotional maturity at the level of an 16 year old. If the MC would just man up a little bit I'd love this book instead of like it but as it stands so far I would trust him to inherit a business let alone some all powerful wizards knowledge and whatever else comes with it.

Historia
Brian and his companions are embarking on an unusual journey to a scarcely-visited realm, a place most would avoid unless they were demons: the Nine Hells. But this isn’t a leisurely vacation; it’s a daring rescue mission. The question looms: why does Lucifer desire Inonia’s father? Is it merely to thwart Brian, as many suspect? Yet, a puzzling dilemma remains. Why does Lucifer fear Brian?

Great story, BUT
Revisado: 03-27-25
I have read every series this author has written and fo the most part enjoyed them all. Unfortunately, for whatever reason this author has continued to ignore his readers in both Facebook and patreon and continues to make the same mistake that keeps him from being on the next level. His stories are great and for the most part well written unfortunately his readers are constantly pulled from the story by his frequent repeated conversations between characters. For example the female dragon is told at least three times that the kobalds still live. every time she reacts with surprise and cries. this author seriously needs to read over his own work after he's finished writing the book or at least fix it when pointed out by his patreon subscribers in their comments. maybe get some beta readers and actually listen to their feedbak, most of these repeated conversations are in the same chapters sometimes even within a few sentences of each other. sometimes it's in the next book. overall this is a good story as are almost all of his books. it's just aggravating reading the same conversations two or three times and knowing this has already been covered.

a brilliant addition to what has become one of my top 3 favorite series. I can't believe how quickly the first three books where released on audible once they started but am grateful. I can't wait for the book 4 release and am anxiously awaiting book 5 to start in print.

Historia
I expected aging out of the foster care system to be hard. I wasn't expecting it to include finding out I was a Warlock, destined to be hunted by the most powerful Witch Families so they could bind me to a coven of thirteen witches and spend the rest of my life "harvesting mana". Add to that a set of magical resonants that made me an even bigger target to some of those Witch Families, some of which would rather kill me than let a rival get me.

Great story, but.
Revisado: 12-22-24
it's a great story and I usually hate the academy type stories, they have been so overdone. this one although not so very different was well written enough that I didn't mind. My only complaint would be that the MC is a bit of an idiot. I get that he's only 18 but his maturity level is irritating, thankfully the story and the support characters make up for this shortcoming. I hope as this moves into the next book he matures a bit. Who wants a harem MC who acts like a 13 year old? As a first book he can get away with it but if he's going to realistically build a harem he needs to step up and mature and act like someone multiple women would be interested in and not some nice guy that's a little dumb and immature but since he's nice women like him.

could have been great
Revisado: 10-27-24
I hate leaving lackluster reviews but in this case it couldn't be helped. The story itself had amazing potential it was engaging. Where everything goes down hill is the MC. I hate the whole Alpha male narcissistic MC that appears in so many books of this genre and you certainly don't have to worry about that here. Unfortunately this MC is so much the opposite that he just gets on your nerves with almost everytime he opens his mouth. i couldn't make it halfway through the book because he was that annoying. It's a good thing the author has him as Canadian because I kept waiting for him to apologize for everything. His inner voice always sounding so tough then his actions may as well have had him just begging for forgiveness for having had bad thoughts where he was actually a man.

It certainly wasn't easy to get used to the drastic change in his life, but Lucas seemed to take his new role as the secret protector of Earth and other possible realms rather well. Stuck in his own apartment for most of the time, he ventured into and conquered two dangerous Dungeons. Naturally, it wouldn't have been possible without the incredibly helpful draconic Berserker lady assisting him all the way. Yet, two will not mark the end, not even close.

great story
Revisado: 12-07-23
As my title says, I think it's a great story so far. the characters are awesome. The only reason I dropped one star is because of the MC narration, Don't get me wrong he does an amazing job it's just it doesn't quite fit and bothers me. The accent, he's the only one with an accent. His harem, his friends, his parents all sound American but for some reason he has an accent. it's distracting to me. but overall it's an amazing audio book.

Imagine being the only human left on an Earth occupied by monsters, aliens, and worse. Sounds terrible? Well...it's not so bad when you are an introverted battle junkie like me. Honestly, I was almost starting to appreciate being left behind while everyone else was given the chance to prepare for the mess Earth had gotten itself into. On a side note, it turns out I'm pretty good at hunting monsters. Though dragons and such are a bit out of my league. Just a bit. I survived dozen-something kobolds that wanted me dead, and now it's time to pay back their leader.

Revisado: 11-30-23
it's a great story but, honestly I hate the MC he's such an immature pansy. he's 20 years old and still saying kitty and doggy and daddy. he cries and whines and has no balls to question people when he doesn't trust them. I had hoped in this book he would grow up a bit. I honestly don't know if I'll even bother with book three if it ever comes out. The truth is it's a shame because all the other aspect of the book are amazing. just can't stand an MC that is so immature.

Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

liked the story but
Revisado: 02-27-22
as the title says I liked the story. all three books, but I honestly hated the ending. it seemed rushed and incomplete. I also hated that sapphire was just thrown back in with no apparent consequences to her just leaving and expecting to just be accepted by the two wives. the back and forth with the system then no system is a bit ridiculous. the fact that frank was unconscious and sapphire was allowed to make the decisions was also b.s. what right did she have to do so. honestly anyone would be pissed including frank hearing her answering what happened. but instead they just go watch the baby being born. it's not consistent with things frank has said or his personality through the series to just be let it go like that.
