Andrew Peterson has produced an excellent novel that I found hard to put down. The characters are believeable and the domestic terrorism theme was a pleasant diversion from the usual spy-type novel which I had expected. And, as usual, Dick Hill did a masterful job of narration. He surely possesses a gift, not only internally with respect to his craft but also to those of us who are privileged to be captured by the believeability of the voice he gives to his characters and his uncanny ability to change characters as though he were simply changing hats. I recommend this audio book to anyone who enjoys action adventures and particularly those such as myself who are retired and can afford the luxury foregoing sleep out of an insatiable desire to find out what is going to happen next!

I'll preface this by saying that I'm rather new to Audible. I'm a "speed reader" and generally prefer hard copy as a consequence. With that said, in any format "The Company" is by all measures a winner. It gives us who live more mundane lives a glimpse into and greater appreciation for the skills and sacrifices those in the spy game must possess and endure. Even more importantly, I can't fathom how I could have enjoyed the hard copy of the book even one-tenth as much due to the excellent reading and vocal dexterity of Scott Brick. His ability to effortlessly and instantaneously change the voice of characters in dialogue with one another, whether male to female, British to Russian, etc., greatly enhanced my enjoyment of it. It made me nostalgic for the pre-television radio days of my youth in which your imagination of the characters and the scene were an integral and necessary part of experiencing the story. I commend this book to anyone interested in the espionage genre or even those who are not but would like to gain a realistic insight into this secret world and the extraordinary people who occupy it.

A Son's Tribute to His Father

5 out of 5 stars

Knowing Ronnie Reagan's political views, in advance I had expected a rather critical review by him of his father. Instead, he painted a vivid portrait of his father's fore-bearers and of the circumstances of President Reagan's upbringing and progression throughout his life. As one who lived in California under Reagan's governorship for eight years there and, later, under his eight years as president, and, being myself a progressive liberal, I harbor no fond recollections of that experience. However, Ronnie Reagan's book, at least, better informed me of the events that made Reagan the man and politician that he was and has, thus, softened my outlook on him. Ronnie succeeded in explaining the dynamics of his father and did so in a manner most befitting a loving son's recounting of his experiences with his father, for which I tip my hat to him.

Having purchased a two cassette audio book of Robert Frost reading his own poetry some years ago, I had hoped that this purchase would obviate the need the laborious task of having to transfer them into digital format for the computer and my various MP3 players and entertainment tablet. Unfortunately, I can only say that the person reading Frost's poetry in this audio book, though with perfect diction, lacked any feel for or understanding of the poems he was reading. While it may be a bit unfair to compare the reader to the poet himself, nevertheless his performance was disappointing and now I'm reconciled to having to transfer the audio cassettes to digital format--very disappointing.
