Historia
Since he was a small boy, Mosab Hassan Yousef has had an inside view of the deadly terrorist group Hamas. The oldest son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founding member of Hamas and its most popular leader, young Mosab assisted his father for years in his political activities while being groomed to assume his legacy, politics, status...and power. But everything changed when Mosab turned away from terror and violence and embraced instead the teachings of another famous Middle East leader.

Key to Freedom
Revisado: 05-14-24
Having been raised in Mormonism, I found Jesus by reading the words “in red” and being drawn to practice and trust Jesus to enable me to forgive others, pray for my enemies, and receive grace every day. Then, I was set free from the pride of religion that is so dangerous. This book shows the truth Jesus shares is across all barriers for those willing to sacrifice the bondage that we let self and others place on us: hatred, fear, pride(in good works-earning favor from God), and power/things. There is such great freedom with the true message from Jesus. This book shows that. God sees our motives and heart and only God knows what we really are.

Helpful insight
Revisado: 04-02-24
Helpful reflective tools. If your heart is in the right place, this will work well for anyone. If it is used to manipulate instead of mature, it will just delay the inevitable. The tools are useful at improving communication instead is staying stuck in cycles of dysfunction or natural instincts that are not always helpful.

Laughter and sincerity
Revisado: 03-29-24
Love that Alison narrator her book so we could hear the voice we know so well. I didn’t expect to laugh out loud so much. i listened to it until four in the morning because I just couldn’t wait to hear more. I have so much respect and gratitude for her protection of young people. Hope she will now fight to protect children from transgender operations since too many adults are reporting they regret the surgeries. Psychologists are reporting some parents are suffering from a similar illness to maunchausen sayndrome by proxy, which is their motivation. My own gay brother is so grateful that was not an option for him since he now appreciates his male body and is glad he can still have the ultimate pleasure during sex. No one could be heard better to protect the CA young people than Alison since she has no prejudice against the LGBQT community.

A Very Private School offers a clear-eyed, first-hand account of a culture of cruelty at the school Charles Spencer attended in his youth and provides important insights into an antiquated boarding system. Drawing on the memories of many of his schoolboy contemporaries, as well as his own letters and diaries from the time, he reflects on the hopelessness and abandonment he felt at aged eight, viscerally describing the intense pain of homesickness and the appalling inescapability of it all.

Historia
Depression is the number-one health issue in the world today, yet those who suffer are still sometimes stigmatized - especially followers of Jesus. Many assume God's peace, power, and protection should prevent us from ever feeling anxious, depressed, and afraid. But the Bible teaches otherwise, particularly in its depiction of the life of the Old Testament prophet Elijah. Chris Hodges uses Elijah's life to show us that everyone is susceptible to depression. Even when we're walking closely with God, we can still stumble and get lost in the wilderness of tangled emotions.

I needed this
Revisado: 05-28-21
This is probably the most concise, balanced, and encouraging, practical book on managing stress, worry, anxiety, or depression. This book was an answer to my prayers. The authors own pain has led to helping others in a way nothing else could have accomplished...he can really relate. So thankful for the wisdom in this book and the practical approach to all facets of dealing with these issues.

Louis L'Amour's world is built on those dramatic moments when men and women cast their fears, doubts, and pasts behind them and plunge into the unknown. Nowhere is that more evident than in this latest collection of stories set on the American frontier. These selections include "The Nester and the Piute"; "Big Man"; "Waltz Him Around Again"; "Shadow"; "Barney Takes a Hand"; "When a Texan Takes Over"; and "No Trouble for the Cactus Kid".

The narrator's voices for women and younger men is so distracting. Could not even finish listening and I love L'Mour's books. Not a voice I would pick to read stories and will avoid purchasing books narrated by this person.
