Historia
From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

Long, partisan story.
Revisado: 02-14-20
I was fool to believe that this was a honest attempt to tell a story. As per usual, it was a very one sided story, invented by a left winged author. I knew something was amiss when Republicans were demonized repeatedly through the 18+ hours of the novel. I wish writers would stay neutral and tell the true story. I know they have to take creative liberties, big this was ridiculous.the last two hours were painful to listen to. I did, however, love the narrator.

shockingly better than the perdition score
Revisado: 02-11-20
great entry into the sandman slim series, full of interesting locations and new memorable characters. I was really impressed with the use of so many less familiar settings as opposed to the overused California scenery.

I’m picky and I loved this book.
Revisado: 10-25-19
This book was so well written. It was painful to submerge myself in a story where adults were cruel and hatred so prevalent, but worth every second because with the darkness, there was also incredible beauty. The brave spirit of a little girl surviving against all odds. The author drew me in with each paragraph increasingly gripping my senses. There was simply no choice but to read on through the night. This is an amazing amazing piece of literature.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Beautifully written. I could not put it down. I listened to this book when I couldn’t sit with the hard copy. The author unravels a story of Nazi occupied France and the unexpected heroes that were a pin hole of light in the great darkness. As the story escalated, I wanted to cry out and warn the characters. I knew what history had in store for them. What brilliant writing to illicit such a response from the reader. I contemplated what I would have done in the same situation. Would I have had the courage? The author eloquently told the tale without making the details to painful to stomach. The author was successful in balancing the atrocities of the war, with a story so full of beauty that I will always remember it. I would 100% recommend this important read. One of my favorite messages that the author left in my mind was that, love is always stronger than hate.

On the fence with this one...
Revisado: 08-08-19
I had a harder time than usual bonding with the characters In this novel. I think in creating Elizabeth to be a strong minded, independent woman, the author did not achieve the warmth and tenderness that would have made her more endearing to the reader. Nathanial often came across as angry and cold. I kept waiting for him to show more affection toward his daughter, Hannah. There were moments where I saw a glimpse and hoped the author would develop more growth in the leads. I feel that the author did a better job developing the personalities of the villains. I also found myself frustrated with the length of the book. It took so long to get to the point. I think the story could have been told in 15 hours, not 20+. All of this being said, it was decent enough for me to hang in there and finish, but then again, I'm stubborn and don't like to give up. The ending was also frustrating. I'm sure it's because the author was planning another book in the series. Will I pick that book up? A weak, maybe....
