Historia
Whether in political debates or discussions about immigration around the kitchen table, many Americans, regardless of party affiliation, will say proudly that we are a nation of immigrants. In this bold new book, historian Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz asserts this ideology is harmful and dishonest because it serves to mask and diminish the US’s history of settler colonialism, genocide, white supremacy, slavery, and structural inequality, all of which we still grapple with today.

Factual history of the USA is not pretty, but important to remember lest we forget
Revisado: 02-14-25
Historical account of settler colonialism and whiteness that established the United States. An essential read of the founding of this country by European settlers and everything in between. Some people might clutch their pearls while reading the ugly truths. Sometimes the truth is honest, raw, and very ugly.

Great story
Revisado: 09-22-23
While the ending was somewhat predictable, some elements were not. I wasn’t sure if there would be a last minute plot twist. I really enjoyed the story.

Historia
Difficult people, there are all kinds of them, but they have one thing in common: They make your skin crawl and your life miserable. When you have to cope with someone undermining you or putting you down, it destroys your motivation. You shut down emotionally and lose interest in all those things you liked. You can’t simply run away from them because there will always be others. It’s just a fact of life.

Historia
Thirty years ago, cynical sleaze ball director Tito Bronze took a tiny cast and crew to a desolate island. His goal: to exploit the local tribes, spray some guts around, cash in on the gore-spattered 80s Italian cannibal craze. But the pissed-off spirits of the island had other ideas. And before long, guts were squirting behind the scenes, as well.

Not as campy as expected
Revisado: 05-03-16
This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.
This story was not as campy as expected. The story progressed and resolved rather quickly. The narrator's voice was rather dry and some enthusiasm or dynamics might have improved the story. Overall, good gore book.

Excellent follow up to The Bundy Murders...
Revisado: 04-11-16
I highly recommend reading The Bundy Murders prior to reading this book, as it is an excellent follow up by the same author. Having not read the first book prior to reading this book, I was lost in some of the story. That being said, this book was very well written and great care was taken to ensure accuracy in details of The Trail of Ted Bundy. Kevin Sullivan, a fellow Kentucky native, won me over with his writing style and thorough investigative writing. Looking forward to reading more books by Kevin Sullivan.

Great YA Book
Revisado: 04-08-16
CONS:
This was a fun, teenage mystery, but my attention was lost with the length of the story and the PG rated language. I sometimes got lost in the dream vs. reality of the storyline because the author didn't really distinguish between the two. The narrator did not change her voice very well among the male characters, so I sometimes got lost discerning one make from another.
PROS:
I agree with this statement by user Literary Classics on Goodreads, "Author Cathrina Constantine has crafted a suspenseful book which will keep readers guessing from page one clear through to the climactic finish. This is a multi-faceted novel which offers much to readers of all ages who are sure to be drawn into this gripping young adult mystery."
It’s a great YA story for teens & adults. Warning to minors: the language is PG, but there is definitely drug use in the story.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Great story, but rather lengthy
Revisado: 03-31-16
I really enjoyed this book. The story was great, but it could have been told in fewer words. It took me a while to get into the story with the story lines going back and forth between the sisters, but once it started coming together it was enjoyable.
