Historia
At first, it looks like a disease. An epidemic that spreads through no known means, driving its victims mad with memories of a life they never lived. But the force that’s sweeping the world is no pathogen. It’s just the first shock wave, unleashed by a stunning discovery - and what’s in jeopardy is not our minds but the very fabric of time itself. In New York City, Detective Barry Sutton is closing in on the truth - and in a remote laboratory, neuroscientist Helena Smith is unaware that she alone holds the key to this mystery...and the tools for fighting back.

Tedious and repetitive
Revisado: 01-07-25
Plot twists seemed contrived, attempts to explain the timelines befuddling, and the ending was deeply disappointing if you were expecting any resolution. What happened? Did the convoluted scheme work? Was the world saved? And why were the last thirty minutes just a boring litany of events in Barry's life?

Historia
Ex-Army paratrooper Griffin “Fin” Brooks thought he left danger behind when his battlefield injuries forced him to pursue a new career in marine biology. But one fateful night off the coast of South Africa, a ship nearly crashes into him and his loyal golden retriever, Jacques. Not just any ship. A starship. Though its alien pilot is dead, the rare extraterrestrial animal inside is not. Fin learns the creature is being smuggled across the galaxy when a pair of interstellar visitors respond to the crash. But those same investigators accuse Fin and his dog of crimes he didn’t even know existed.

Whiny insufferable overwrought narration
Revisado: 05-01-24
The story was so juvenile, with definitely no more substance than a bad YA novel. The characters were beyond silly. A marine biologist who immediately volunteers to fly a spaceship (whose pilot was killed in a crash into the sea) on a mission? To return an alien "animal" to its home world? To help out two three -eyed aliens who breathe methane and happen to show up and realize they can't fly the "gooey" home because they have a different mission? So of course they do the logical thing and "deputize" our idiotic biologist as a certified "Space Ranger" so he's eligible to fly the spaceship. Puh-lease.
I love Sci fi but this? And the narrator was terrible, overemphasizing nearly every word of the inane dialogue. If you're 11 or 12 go for it. Otherwise read some Isaac Asimov. . .

Drramatic turnaround about 1/4 of the way in
Revisado: 03-15-24
I have read and thoroughly lenjoyed virtually everything that John Scalzi has available on Audible. I had missed Androids Dream though and was excited to enjoy yet another. The book highlights, John Scalzi’s enormous and inventive imagination, and his skills at turning a phrase just so as to elicit laughs.
However I was completely surprised by the beginning of the book which I thought was not only silly, but puerile. Fart jokes? Really, John? Surely there were other ways to anger the Nidu ambassador enough to cause a fatal heart attack other than fart-insulting him to death! However, once Mr. Scalzi had gotten this aspect of third-grade boys' bathroom humor out of his system, he reverted to his tremendous ability to tell an interesting and even intricate storyline and make it Uber-enjoyable to read!
And Will Wheaton's narration was superb.

Historia
1992. All across the United States respectable, upstanding citizens are showing up dead. These deaths could be accidents, and they don’t appear to be connected—until a fatal fall from a high-floor window attracts some unexpected attention. That attention comes from the secretary of defense. All of a sudden he wants an interagency task force to investigate. And he wants Jack Reacher as the army’s representative. If Reacher gets a result, great. If not, he’s a convenient fall guy.

The worst, most boring Reacher ever
Revisado: 01-27-24
I suspect that this was mostly farmed out to Andrew Child to write. Nowhere near the quality of Lee Child's early works. I have read them all, but I won't waste my time on a next one.
The last two chapters were all exposition, and hugely anticlimactic, but necessary so Reacher could just tell the reader everything the author couldn't figure out how to put into the actual narrative. And the Childs' trademark technique of endlessly listing things unnecessarily, enough to want to fast forward? So over already.

Way too many sarcastic "R--i--i--g-h-t" s. This wasn't the best John Corey novel by far. With each new story he annoyingly gets more and more cocky and self-righteous.

Historia
Civil war looms in the Bobiverse in this brand-new, epic-length adventure by Audible number one best seller Dennis E. Taylor. More than a hundred years ago, Bender set out for the stars and was never heard from again. There has been no trace of him despite numerous searches by his clone-mates. Now Bob is determined to organize an expedition to learn Bender’s fate - whatever the cost. But nothing is ever simple in the Bobiverse. Bob’s descendants are out to the 24th generation now, and replicative drift has produced individuals who can barely be considered Bobs anymore.

After everything that the citizens of Beartown have gone through, they are struck yet another blow when they learn that their beloved local hockey team will soon be disbanded. What makes it worse is the obvious satisfaction that all the former Beartown players, who now play for a rival team in Hed, take in that fact. Amidst the mounting tension between the two rivals, a surprising newcomer is handpicked to be Beartown's new hockey coach. Soon a new team starts to take shape around Amat, the fastest player you'll ever see; Benji, the crazed lone wolf; and Vidar, a born-to-be-bad troublemaker.
