Historia
Can you fall in love like they do in the movies? It's Evie Summers' job to find out. Because if she can't convince her film agency's biggest client, Ezra Chester, to write the romantic-comedy screenplay he owes producers, her career will be over. The catch? He thinks rom-coms are unrealistic - and he'll only put pen to paper if Evie shows him that it's possible to meet a man in real life the way it happens on the big screen. Cynical Evie might not believe in happily ever after, but she'll do what it takes to save the job that's been her lifeline.

Great narrator, fun story!

Loved the narrator, her accent and voice work were impressive! The story was so much fun and reminded me a bit of Bridget Jones Diary, in a great way!

Wish these were longer!
Revisado: 05-16-16
I only wish these books were longer! So many unanswered questions! But I do think the unanswered questions are part of the charm of these "epic slice of life" novels. Another great performance by Robert Ian Mackenzie!

Historia
Newlywed Angus Lordie has been booked by his bride into what he must not call the loony bin; Bruce’s first encounter with hot wax brings more anguish than he bargained for; and Bertie's birthday dreams of scout camp and a penknife look set to be replaced by a game of Royal Weddings and a gender-neutral doll. But fate, an amorous Bedouin, and the Dubai Tourist Authority conspire to transport Bertie's mother, Irene, to a warmer--if not a better--place.

Love it! Keep them coming, A. McCall Smith!

Can't wait to see how Irene gets out of this pickle and if it changes her parenting attitude at all! I'm sure it won't, but I still love all the little mishaps and triumphs going on around 44 Scotland Street. As always, great and lively narration!

Revisado: 04-11-16
Loved it! All the characters I've come to love or love to hate are back and moving their lives forward and backward so entertainingly! Listening to this series is so enjoyable and relaxing that I'll be repeating them as soon as I finish the latest one.

Historia
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!

wonderful reading of a beloved childhood book
Revisado: 01-08-16
This unabridged audiobook edition was a wonderful reading of a beloved childhood book. The narrator gives a lively voice to each character that is distinct from the movies and true to the novels. I first read this book in 2000, and listening to this brought back all the fond memories of that first reading. I highly recommend this audiobook series.
