I've listened to this audiobook at least three times now. The entire original series by Frank Herbert is one of the most thought-provoking and intelligent series I've come across, but it also inspires a great fear as well. RIP Frank Herbert.

Surprisingly intelligent. I expected the vampirism to be some mystical, spooky force, but instead was greeted with a scientific, (semi-)realistic story of how a plague can actually spread.
Would suggest for everyone.

Frank Herbert knocks it outta the park again.
As intelligent and thoughtful as all of his previous works.

Typical kid stuff, but after twenty or so chapters it's very good look at things like prejudice and discrimination from the viewpoint of a child.

The performance was well done, but is far too complicated for me to really enjoy on the first read.
The author provides many thought-provoking ideas, but the 20th century way of speaking makes it quite the hurdle for me to understand.
Overall, I'd suggest to those looking for an in-depth look at suicide and numerous philosophers such as Kierkegaard and Nietzche. Definitely NOT a quick read, at least for me.

As good as it was as a general overview of Norse history and belief, there are a number of details that are incorrect.
Would only suggest as a general overview, and nothing more.

Author glosses over some things, such as Okinawa, for example, but for the most part, is something I would suggest to those looking for a brief overview of WWII, especially for those with an interest in the European view of things.

I highly suggest that people listen to this book because it details the life and inter-workings of the planet that this story is about, and raises many questions about what a human being is and what consciousness is, though most of the questions are rhetorical, as good books leave these kind of big questions often should, or at least I think. The story and the main characters' struggles are interesting, though most of the story pertains to Solaris, or the human experience relating to Solaris.
I find the story to be quite interesting, though I have to admit that I've had to take a break from this because it can at times get frustrating to listen to just the history or the workings of the planet, and not what's happening to the main characters.

For those looking for a story about the characters going through the Heroes' Journey with some backstory added on, I suggest that these people skip this. This is more of a history and examination of the planet Solaris Stanislaw Lem puts forth with some parts of the Heroes' Journey sprinkled in.
Overall, I'd say this is well written, but closer to an examination of Solaris than a tale of heroism.

Extremely descriptive and very grabbing.
Thoroughly enjoyable and should be enjoyed by any who value not just historic figures, but the character behind them as well.

Not only is Lovecraft's works amazing and as great as I had hoped, but all of the readers are at the very least decent. I will be following most, if not all of their future readings.
