Historia
The difference that being female makes to the diagnosis, life and experiences of an autistic person is hugely significant. In this second edition, Sarah Hendrickx combines the latest research with personal stories from girls and women on the autism spectrum to present a picture of their feelings, thoughts and experiences at each stage of their lives. Outlining the likely impact will be for autistic women and girls throughout their lifespan, Hendrickx surveys everything from diagnosis, childhood, education, adolescence, friendships and sexuality, to employment, pregnancy, parenting, and aging.

A Different View of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Revisado: 02-12-24
As a school psychologist I came into this book with a background in the more "classic" expression of ASD, which is based on the study of males with autism, primarily. This book provided a comprehensive review of the differences one might see in females with autism.
At times, it was difficult to listen to research shared in an audiobook format. The references and page numbers can be tedious. However, the many examples from individuals helped to bring the research to life.
I learned a great deal from this book and I wish I had this knowledge years ago. Thank you, Ms. Hendrickx, for expanding my horizons!

Historia
Birdie Binkowitz is just a little bitter. As a young actress, she was the toast of Hollywood, definitely destined for greatness. Then the dragons had to rise up from their thousand-year slumber, take over Earth and ruin everything. Twenty years later, Birdie is living her worst life in her hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, working at her father's Seed and Feed (and Bagels). Then, a mysterious dragon appears in front of the store seeking her help. He’s got a bone to pick with his fellow dragons–and he wants to hit them where it hurts.

Witty and Fun!
Revisado: 05-01-23
Once again, Alexander C Kane introduces a flawed, quirky, and witty female lead that you love to root for (and laugh at). A breath of fresh air and respite from the everyday drama of real life. This book was just plain fun from start to finish! The narration was also excellent and added to the humor! I hope we get a series out of this! 🤞
