The woman introduces herself as Martha and soon confesses that she’s been stuck in an affair with her boss. Selena, in turn, confesses that she suspects her husband is sleeping with the nanny. When the train arrives at Selena’s station, the two women part ways, presumably never to meet again.

Strategically Twisted
Revisado: 02-03-23
The story is narrated through multiple perspectives and the passing is fast. An in counter that opens a Wed of lies deceit. The narrator was tolerable. I had a difficult time interpreting which perspective she was reading. I had to listen hard to context clues to know which perspective she was reading. Even with the disappointment in the narrator I did not want to stop listening. Two lead females did not disappoint. For a second here and there I thought we were going to get a wimp but both women were just right and strong, not too strong. In conclusion this is a clever, compelling, suspenseful story about marriage and all it is not cracked up to be.

Recommend for entertainment not realism.

What makes a good thriller? Not being able to guess the ending. I enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters even as they never fully trusted each other. I wished some of the supporting characters were a little more fleshed out but it didn’t make me unhappy. I am glad I read it and I only recommend to people who can take a book as a story not real life and not suppose to be. This book takes you places we don’t get to see much of in real life and some fantasize drama to be. A Netflix could make this in a limited series. I have to say you must read it to the end.

It was okay - predictable
Revisado: 09-13-22
So, take my review with a grain of salt.
This book held my attention very well. I didn't love it—mostly due to not liking the main character who kept making dumb (and, by my standards, immoral) choices. The writing and the narration kept me listening even though I saw almost every twist coming (I think there were two I didn't guess before they were revealed), and the story itself was fascinating. I've always been interested in psychology and the like, so the main character being a psychologist was fun for me even though I didn't like her. I only finished to hope her daughter was the one who set the fire and was plotting against her but this never happened. Everyone got what was coming to them. Not sure ot could have been any better.

I only try on one of Nina’s pristine white dresses once. Just to see what it’s like. But she soon finds out...and by the time I realize my attic bedroom door only locks from the outside, it’s far too late. But I reassure myself: The Winchesters don’t know who I really am. They don’t know what I’m capable of....

Addictive, captivating and thrilling
Revisado: 08-19-22
I couldn’t read it fast enough!!! Just when the plot might get predictable there was curve that kept me wanting more.
The book is a page turner indeed, so much so that I could not put down, I read it in one day but stayed up until 3:30 am. doing so wanting to get to the end. The twists and turns are never ending and I couldn't wait to read what was going to happen next.
Some of the situations can seem a bit out of the ordinary, but that's what makes for interesting reading. This book took me in a direction I did not foresee.
If you are looking for a quick, entertaining vacation, beach/poolside read, this is a winner.

Boring and Blah Accent Narrations

I finished it but this book left to much of a cliff hanger. The characters are weak. I can see why someone might like it.

Mah Emoji
Revisado: 02-19-21
At times, this book was like trying to gargle with peanut butter. Far too many unnecessary details and descriptions. Great, clogging chunks of backstory that stopped the plot, and sometimes there was a back flash within the backstory. Also, the "mean girls" are cliche, inhabiting nearly every teenage movie and book that exists these days--rich and pretty with one leader who is the richest and prettiest. It's not that hard to come up with something fresh and original.
This author is a good writer, but there's nothing wrong with trying to stretch from good to great by leaving behind worn-out old stereotypes and deleting sections that do nothing but take up space. Predictable and dull, but with some really good passages.

As good as the reviews!
Revisado: 02-19-21
Give it a chance and you will not be disappointed at the end. I am looking forward to book two!
All hail the queen 👸🏻👸🏻of the page turners.
You’d think the plot of the wife and husband who are living happily in life would be just another one of those books. But no. It’s not. It’s crazy from chapter 2 until the end. And each of the characters introduced have a place in the story and it falls together brilliantly. Sorry where was i ....cut to an x lover comes back to Stir the pot. And that she does.
The way Shari puts those twists and turns are what makes her stand out an author like no other.
This book is not what you think and it’s wasn’t you guessed. It’s totally the opposite and the ENDING ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Is. The. Best.

There was just enough of this and that by the end I wanted book 2 but darn I have to wait a few more months. I appreciate not too much love or violence. I am okay with light love and moderate violence and this book gave me a transition to mystery novels.
