Historia
Christina Antonioni is preparing for the holidays at her Nantucket toy shop, unpacking last-minute shipments and decorating for her loyal Christmas shoppers. But when her Scrooge of a landlord, Oscar Bittlesman, raises her rent, it seems nearly impossible for Christina to continue business on the wharf. Even so, Christina firmly believes there may be a warm heart underneath Oscar's steely exterior. When she bonds with Wink, his sweet, young granddaughter who frequents the shop, it becomes clear that perhaps he isn't so cold after all.

Soooo boring
Revisado: 12-03-19
I wanted a cozy Christmas romance, but this was mostly a detailed description of every little mundane thing this lady did during the day. I also don’t understand what any of the romantic pairs saw in each other.

I really loved this book. The narrator does a great job with the multiple perspectives and brings the lovely writing to life. I learned a lot about the Iranian Revolution too.

My daughter loves Geronimo Stilton, and my husband and I enjoy them too. There's a lot of humor in the writing and in the performance.

Kate Burkholder, a young Amish girl, survived the terror of the Slaughterhouse Killer but came away from its brutality with the realization that she no longer belonged with the Amish. Now, a wealth of experience later, Kate has been asked to return to Painters Mill as Chief of Police. She's certain she's come to terms with her past - until the first body is discovered in a snowy field.

Ridiculously bad
Revisado: 05-25-12
What would have made Sworn to Silence better?
The plot was so predictable and the language is full of cliches and awkward dialog. These things could have been improved.
What was most disappointing about Linda Castillo’s story?
I figured it out about a third of the way through, and I usually don't figure mysteries out.
What didn’t you like about Kathleen McInerney’s performance?
Awkwardly read.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I guess the Amish twist is sort of interesting, but there are so many better mysteries out there.

Renowned criminologist Lincoln Rhyme immediately identifies the clock distributor and has the chilling realization that the killer, who has dubbed himself the Watchmaker, has more murders planned in the hours to come.

Almost gave up, glad I didn't
Revisado: 03-03-11
I haven't read one of Jeffery Deaver's books in a long time. I got this one because I love Joe Mantegna, and his narration didn't disappoint.
As for Deaver, he is a pretty good writer for the thriller genre, and the characters of Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs are interesting as always. Toward the middle, the plot almost made me give up because it was so ridiculous, but there were more twists to come and the ending was satisfying eventually.

Wow - great all around
Revisado: 03-03-11
I downloaded this book on a whim after seeing it on Audible's main page, and I'm so glad I did. The story is haunting, the characters are multi-faceted and the writing is beautiful. In addition, I would download almost anything from this narrator - he is so good. I didn't want it to end!

Can't wait for it to end...
Revisado: 03-03-11
Like other reviewers have said, this is a big disappointment for fans of Preston and Child. The characters are stereotypical and/or annoying, the plot is ridiculous and not even that interesting, and the narration is not the greatest and punctuated with seemingly random musical interludes. The scenes that are supposed to be exciting plodded along until I was yelling at the stereo to get on with it! Blah!

Good adventure science story
Revisado: 02-02-11
I didn't like this one quite as much as Preston's other book featuring Wyman Ford, but I still enjoyed it. A lot of seafaring adventure and interesting "science."
