Historia
The America’s Cup, first awarded in 1851, is the oldest trophy in international sports, and one of the most hotly contested. In 2000, Larry Ellison, co-founder and billionaire CEO of Oracle Corporation, decided to run for the coveted prize and found an unlikely partner in Norbert Bajurin, a car radiator mechanic who had recently been named Commodore of the blue collar Golden Gate Yacht Club.

More Mechanic and Less Larry
Revisado: 02-09-22
I loved the history of the America's Cup and found the evolution of boat design fascinating. The battle between Alinghi and Team Oracle was very interesting. I would have liked more back story of SFYC and Commodore Norbert. All in all it was a fun listen and Id recommend it to anyone with an interest in yacht racing and the AC.

Would Make a Better Text Book
Revisado: 10-06-21
I enjoyed the book but struggled through some of the lists. The book doesn't make the best audio book and I found the performance hard to listen to. Most of the stories were repetitive and could have used more variation. There is no doubt that the author is a master sailor and communicator but I feel it was lost in narration. I would rather own this book in coffe-table book format or hard cover. As a sailor, I did learn a lot and found value in some of the anecdotes and chapters on safety.

A Great Story
Revisado: 09-10-21
I absolutely loved this story. The character development was superb and very relatable. Mr. Williams does an excellent job of introducing, explaining and creating an emotional connection between the characters and the reader. His intonation is perfect for the story and he does a great job with his narration. I highly recommend this book if you have an interest in sailing but if you don't, the story will still keep your attention. I loved how he painted the scene with the Jazz Greats!
