This story has a snarky witch heroine with plenty of banter which I personally love.

Maxima, aka Max, is tattooing artist witch that can’t seem to die since she has apparently died 138 times and resurrected since her birth in the 1600s. She works with her best friend and tattooing partner Striker who tends to get her in and out of trouble from time to time. The story jumps right in with Striker inviting Max to an exclusive club as his +1 in Denver’s seedy warehouse district only to find out Striker doesn’t have a +1 invite for the rogue witch.

I have the book as well and must say that I enjoyed listening to the characters versus reading due to the flashbacks Max has in the story. The flashbacks were confusing to read, but come across clearly in the audio characterizations. All the characters voiced were spot on and I look forward to listening to the rest of the series.

So the above premise of the book had me hooked immediately to get this book, which I've had in my TBR since 2022. I recently received a free copy of the audio book from Booksprout and decided to read the book first and then listen to the audio.

I must admit, that right off the bat, the 1st couple of chapters were confusing, but I realized that the characters were most likely a spin-off of another series, so I wasn't overly bothered. There were also a couple of times in the dialog where I wasn't exactly sure which character was speaking, which led me to go back and forth in the pages. Both of these issues made me take off a star 🌟 in the rating. Other than that, I really enjoyed the characters and especially Max with her snarky "fake it till you make it" bravado.

After I finished reading, I immediately listened to the audio book, which proved much easier to follow with the different character voices, so I gave the audiobook 5 stars 🌟.

I also noticed that the series is complete and in the box set form, so I recently picked up the remaining books in the set. I also picked up Ms. Anderson's Phoenix Rising series in the box set form to get a better look into this world that is alluded to in the 1st couple of chapters of Max's and Ian's story. Happy reading.

Doom and his Red

This takes places before Legion's story as a backstory to the series, even though it was written much later in the series.

This was a fantastic story and much needed as we all wanted to see Earth and Xian Warriors past as they first aided Earth against the bugs in their war against the Cryptids. Definitely 5 stars.

Still love listening to this...

I still love listening to this series of the Azar world as I've listened to it several times over and over again.

After the first season of Hitched! I was hooked into this world of demons, angels, dragons, werewolves and the fae.

I of course read all the books first and then broke down for the audios so I could listen while I multitasking around the house.

A finale with a sort of HEA

Maybe not the HEA the characters envisioned but when you have Luci and Garrick as your grandpa's everything is subject to interpretation.

This was one of many of my favorite G.K. DeRosa series of this world.

Laugh out loud antics

This is the 4th book in the Forever Evermore series bringing us both old and new characters.

This is a beloved series by Scarlett Dawn, who first brought us Lily and the other 3 prodigies whom grew to be the Queens and Kings of their Mystical Factions (Shifter, Vampire, Mage, and Elementals).

In this 4th installment, we are introduced to Caro Jewels (Elemental), as on of the new prodigies to eventually take over the reign from the previous Queens and Kings. Caro proves to be a unique character in so many ways and here laugh out loud antics as the Elemental prodigy brings a new meaning to "bring it on" to her King whom now has his hands truly full. 😊 😆

This book has great character narration and I look forward to listening to it over and over again. I am so looking forward to books 5 and 6 when they do become available.

This story is EPIC

I'm so glad that the ROTI series is finally coming out on Audible. I've read the complete series several times. Now I get to listen to the books as I cook and clean around the house.

This book 2 (Instinctual) was a lot easier to listen to once I got past the different accents which seem a bit more distracting in book 1.

Battle, adventure, & romance

Loved the voices of all the characters, especially Xaden's. The love he imbued in his voice is so raw and intense 😍

As this book carries on from book 1, the story in its entirety is so charged with emotion whether on the battlefield or just trying to survive day to day struggles as the characters fight to exist against the oncoming threat ahead of them. This book will leave you gutted, but also wanting to see what will happens next.

I'm definitely looking forward to this saga continuing.

Extraordinary sequel to book 1

Excellent narration!

True dark Fae story

This is one of my favorite series about dark Fae court and intrigue with a side of mystery as Princess Merry is also a working detective in Los Angeles while trying to adhere to the wishes of her Aunt, the queen, stay alive with her cousins assassination attempts and procreate with one of the queens guards. Life is just starting to get interesting.

I've previously read the series but thoroughly enjoyed listening to the performance by this very talented narrator.
