I really loved the narration for the first book, but this male narrator…. He reads at the same exact cadence and ends on the same descending note for the end of every sentence. There’s no emotion or vocal expression beyond some of the difference voices he uses (Ex. “You enslaved my daughter!”. You’d think he’d sound mad and not just flat and emotionless.)

I am only two hours in and am hoping to get to the female narrator already because listening to this guy is going to put me to sleep. Hopefully he gets a bit better as the book goes on. I do not know if I’ll be able to listen to the 3rd book at this rate, might end up just switching to Kindle for that one.

One of the best vampire novels I’ve read in a long time. I really enjoyed the punkish, post-apocalyptic vibe of Coldtown and the romantic subplot that ran throughout the story.

As someone who typically enjoys more adult reading and a fair amount of spice, there were enough intimate and highly sensitized moments to keep my interest peaked throughout the story. Definitely give this one a chance if you haven’t yet.

Narration was BEAUTIFULLY done. Christine Lakin did an amazing job with every voice, especially Gavriel’s.
