This book was recommended to me as one that had lots of cutting edge information. But the author thinks he speaks to "the spirit of the most high", I believe that he is mostly high and a megalomaniac.
This is a false idol

Instead I got an antireligious diatribe and a lecture on the meaning of the first amendment from a fucking actor.
My degrees are in history and politics so I don't particularly like being 'talked down to' by somebody whose job is to pretend to be something he's not. I'm not a particularly religious person but really find disrespect of those who are very haughty and annoying. The certainty with which he expresses his assertion that there is no God and that the Bible is entirely fiction in itself requires an irrational belief system. If any of us are truly honest and are not full of ourselves on the question of God's existence is to say "I don't know.". It cannot be proven either way. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. And his certainty and tone combined with his lack of qualifications to carry that tone plus that the book isn't billed a religious or political work making his statements come off all the more arrogant.

I learned very little new information, was a high price for the length, even higher since most of it was advertising his other works. Would have learned substantially more from a Wikipedia article

I've listened to a lot of books, and this has some of the worst narration ever. The content was also very unimpressive. If you asked about anyone to sit down for 15 minutes and come up with a list of activities for kids they could do better. not worth the time or money

Not Bad Advice. Too Focused on Environmentalism

I didn't learn anything new from the book, though it has some basic good advice.
The author, contrary to the title and description, is more concerned about his environmental impact than being frugal, which I found very irritating.
I've tried to find a good book that has some novel ways to save money, and can manage to focus on that and not other stuff.
So far I've read this, in all its environmental activist nonsense, and another book that sounds as much a religious book as it is on frugality.
I'm not against conservation or religious belief. In fact I feel that most people could do more of both. But that's not why I bought this book, and I don't care for religiosity that is at the level that not a paragraph is spoken without mentioning God's greatness, or doomsday environmentalism, which is a religion in its own right.

I endured it for an hour hoping it would move on to something useful. This book isn't just biased, is openly hostile and condescending of conservatives and worshipful of politicians on the left. If Rush Limbaugh were a liberal, this is the book he would write.
You won't gain anything from reading this at all.
Most Democratic politicians would work hard to distance themselves from this nut. Paul Krugman however would probably love the book.

I listened for around 45 minutes. Hoping each minute it would become something I could learn from. I couldn't take it anymore and had to shut it off. One of the worst books I've ever listened to, and I've listened to hundreds of audiobooks.
The author basically makes the assertion that every part of us is part of the greater universe, blaugh blaugh blaugh. And then goes on to make it clear he is against all rules, influences, social mores, governmental laws, other people's opinions etc. Basically that we were somehow perfect when we were born and that our parents and society have ruined us.
Basically a bunch of complete crap.
I can' t for the life of me understand how this book has so many good reviews. Its about as profound as a fortune cookie message, or today's horoscope.
