Historia
In the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, Donald Trump and many around him, including certain other elected Republican officials, intentionally breached their oath to the Constitution: they ignored the rulings of dozens of courts, plotted to overturn a lawful election, and provoked a violent attack on our Capitol.

Liz Cheney, a “Thomas Paine” of our time.
Revisado: 12-17-23
Chaney peels back the curtain on Donald Trump’s sycophantic, enabling, and gutless cowards who have been masquerading as Republican Congressmen. Chaney exposes their shameless fealty to the most vile person ever to occupy the Presidency. In doing so, she issues a clarion call, that this time it’s not “the Redcoats” who are coming, it is authoritarianism that is metastasizing within our Republic. Cheney’s expose’ should give any reasonably intelligent person pause to consider the future direction of our country and whether we are at the proverbial fork in the road between choosing democracy or fascism.

Not A Good Read
Revisado: 10-15-23
As a doctor and TV star on ABC I’m not sure she is the best messenger for survivors, most of whom are not so financially well off. She, unlike most, did not have to endure the financial hardships that many survivors endure. She acknowledges did she love her ex as many survivors’ spouses do. This makes surviving much more difficult. I hate to sound crass but I am left wondering whether her motivation to writing the book was economic and publicity rather than to help others.
The I was not impressed nor moved by what she shared. Do not recommend.

Historia
Dr. Jamison is one of the foremost authorities on manic-depressive (bipolar) illness; she has also experienced it firsthand. For even while she was pursuing her career in academic medicine, Jamison found herself succumbing to the same exhilarating highs and catastrophic depressions that afflicted many of her patients, as her disorder launched her into ruinous spending sprees, episodes of violence, and an attempted suicide.

Required Reading For Any Professional Suffering From Depression And Suicide Ideation
Revisado: 08-07-23
As a professional with two post graduate degrees including a doctorate who suffered from untreated depression, suicide ideation and attempted suicide, I found this incredibly honest book immensely helpful. However, you don’t have to be well educated to enjoy the blessings of what is shared here. Dr. Jamison has penned a book that will help and more importantly provide realistic hope for generations.

The statistics on suicide are staggering. The World Health Organization estimates that nearly 800,000 people die by suicide every year, which is one person every forty seconds, and for each completed suicide there may be twenty or more attempts. In How I Stayed Alive When My Brain Was Trying to Kill Me, Susan Blauner is the perfect emissary for a message of hope and a program of action for these millions of people.

Awful panicky book
Revisado: 07-14-23
I do not recommend this book. The author’s narrative is panic ridden and I fear will trigger more harm than good.

Best of all the books on Trump
Revisado: 10-18-22
I’m a political news junkie and I am especially interested in the Donald Trump phenomenon. I’ve read all the major books on Trump to date and “The Divider” is the absolute best story telling chronology on Trump’s Presidency and the people who worked with him. I have to shake my head at the bizarreness of it all. Future historians will have to use this book as a reference. The story teller is very good.
