characters
Revisado: 12-06-23
There were too many descriptive elements that detracted from the story. At first the introduction of the characters was haphazard and difficult to follow. But as it progressed ate story and characters coalesced. I would definetly read the follow up novel.

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Always loved mythology but knew little of the Norse legends. Found it fascinating there is so much similarity in many legends from diverse cultures.

Determined not to remain with her stepfamily, Elena set out to get a new job - and ended up becoming the Fairy Godmother for the land. But "Breaking with Tradition" was no easy matter. True, she didn't have to sleep in the chimney, but she had to deal with arrogant, stuffed-shirt princes who kept trying to rise above their place in the tale.

Revisado: 02-01-18
Having read/listened to this I am looking forward to enjoying the rest of the series. The imagery and descriptive nature of the writing enhanced the story. I am now a fervent Lackey fan and am so glad she is a prolific writer as, her works will provide me much pleasure. The reader was excellent, I hope she will continue with the series.
