Historia
Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to number one on the New York Times best seller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present - facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception.

Great series & narrator
Revisado: 01-15-25
Jennifer Ikeda is a wonderful narrator and has an amazing ability to allow you to visualize the characters in your mind with each having distinct voices, accents, inflections that lends so much more to the this series. Great series (especially the first and this book).

Decent storyline
Revisado: 12-14-24
Decent storyline but terrible accents from the narrators and the female narrator is way too nasal sounding for my taste.

Historia
The Court of François I is full of lust, intrigue, and bawdy bon temps—a different world from the quiet country life Diane de Poitiers led with her elderly husband. Now a widow, the elegant Diane is called back to Court, where the King's obvious interest marks her as an enemy to the King's favorite, Anne d'Heilly. The Court is soon electrified by rumors of their confrontations. As Anne calls on her most venomous tricks to drive Diane away, Diane finds an ally in the one member of Court with no allegiance to the King's mistress: his teenage second son, Henri.

What a beautiful love story!
Revisado: 11-19-24
This is a beautiful love story wrapped in tragedy, heartaches, sorrow and happiness. It’s a must listen and the narrator wonderfully represents each character incredibly well as the story unfolds.

This drags on sooo much!
Revisado: 10-30-24
This book is dragging on so much that I can’t bring myself to listen to it any longer. I’m on chapter 51 or 52 and it’s so much of the similar scenarios repeating itself and dragging out 4x longer than it needs to be.

On January 14, 2018, a 17-year-old girl climbed out of the window of her Perris, California home and dialed 911 with shaking fingers. Struggling to stay calm, she told the operator that she and her 12 siblings - ranging in age from two to 29 - were being abused by their parents. When the dispatcher asked for her address, the girl hesitated. "I've never been out," she stammered.

It sounds like AI or an autobot reading
Revisado: 09-16-24
Some of the content seemed like it was on repeat and I had to double check to see if I accidentally tapped my phone to rewind it but I didn’t. The narrator sounds like AI or a robot reading the content.

Historia
There may be no tidy solutions or pithy answers to life’s big challenges, but Michelle Obama believes that we can all locate and lean on a set of tools to help us better navigate change and remain steady within flux. In The Light We Carry, she opens a frank and honest dialogue with listeners, considering the questions many of us wrestle with: How do we build enduring and honest relationships? How can we discover strength and community inside our differences? What tools do we use to address feelings of self-doubt or helplessness? What do we do when it all starts to feel like too much?

A MUST read!!!
Revisado: 09-16-24
One of the most profound, insightful and insightful books I’ve ever read! It’s the voice of a mother, sister, best friend
is speaking with and to you.
I don’t typically reread books but I will read this one again and again.

Trigger warning: There’s A LOT of DV!
Revisado: 08-15-24
All I heard was how great this story was, how it stuck with readers - I hadn’t read nor heard any references to DV.
While many stories include abuse and DV but there’s A LOT of it in this story. Aside from this, the character development isn’t all that great.

Good storyline but could have been written better
Revisado: 07-28-24
Good storyline with interesting twists but the author used too many ‘Valley Girl’ terms far too often IMO such as, “As if” and a few others which made me cringe and took my focus off the storyline far too often.
