does not disappoint
Revisado: 12-01-21
As usual, I was drawn into another Grabenstein book which I read in one day. In book two of this series, he doesn't disappoint. The narration is great
and the story is fun and has a great underlying storyline of good defeating evil, right vs. wrong. A must read. The story is short and great for the entire family. Another must-read!

Historia
Beelzebub, the prince of demons, is bored. It's his destiny to one day rule the dark underworld known as the Red Realm, but it's sooo boring down there. All he wants to do is lay around all day in the lava pits (ahhh), boss everyone around (rude!), and maybe play a cruel prank (or two). But Beelzebub's father has had it with his son's nasty attitude. No one backtalks the Red King. NO ONE. A disgraced Beelzebub is banished by his father and cursed to spend his days in the worst place either of them can imagine. EARTH.

great performance, odd story
Revisado: 08-30-20
The cast of characters was outstanding to make this a book I wanted to listen to, even if I wasn't particularly seawn into the story. It is a YA type of book more, which I love and have no problem with that. I think the storyline was not bad and had a good moral basis and ending, for once, about the power of good overcoming evil and how the love of others can have that power. I just got a little confused in some area when Beezer could seem non-demonic and other times be very domonic as he was going through various changes. I know there would naturally be an identity crisis and questions while changing from what you know, denying your destiny, and becoming someone new, but I think it could have been portrayed differently. It was a bit odd, but perhaps that's because I often read physical books along with audiobooks to get a clearer idea of what is happening, so maybe I'm missing the visual aspect! short read. still worth it, especially with kids.

I stayed up half the night reading this (got a late start, but couldn't stop reading...). It was worth the groggy head and droopy eyes I have this AM. Can't get enough Lemoncello!

Every one of us will experience suffering. Many of us are experiencing it now. As we have seen in recent years, evil is real in our world, present and close to each one of us. In such difficult times, suffering and evil beg questions about God--Why would an all-good and all-powerful God create a world full of evil and suffering? And then, how can there be a God if suffering and evil exist?

If God is Good, why do we suffer?
Revisado: 04-30-20
I love books by Alcorn. Having recently finished Heaven, I needed more. He is well-researched, provides solid references, and consults many resources to reach a very clear conclusion. He presents many sides to arguments and not just one side. He makes you think. Well worth the long read! This is a question I think about a lot, and his argument makes total sense. My love for God only increased more through reading this. I'll think about this more as my battle with health issues get so much worse, even the harder I fight, and as I prepare for my own potential death and loss of QOL as a 42 yo with such love and passion for this current world, in spite of 26 years of suffering.

After a decade-long addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol, Charlie Engle hit bottom with a near-fatal six-day binge that ended in a hail of bullets. As Engle got sober, he turned to running, which became his lifeline, his pastime, and his salvation. He began with marathons, and when marathons weren't far enough he began to take on ultramarathons, races that went for 35, 50, and sometimes hundreds of miles, traveling to some of the most unforgiving places on earth to race.

one of the best books I've read this year
Revisado: 12-10-19
excellent, inspiring, humorous book without losing the sense of reality and challenges of living with a progressive muscle wasting condition. I laughed. I connected. I was inspired. As someone with severe disabilities and a love for life, I share his approach to life and attitude. He is fully dependent on others, yet he finds the humor in the horrors of living with the nastiness of his challenges. It's all about attitude. He uses it to do incredible things with his life and impact the lives of millions. He refuses to be defined by it and does not pity himself.
This book is easily one of the best of the 100+ books I've read this year. Completely worth the time! Get this book. It will be some of the best 6 hours you've spent listening to a book.

dead on from someone with chronic illnesses
Revisado: 09-05-19
I have multiple chronic illnesses and was legally blind for two years at one point. In spite of that, I have had an awesome life and been able to use my challenges to make an impact on the world through the founding of a non-profit organization which now has an international outreach.
What she discusses about the loss of friends, the societal misunderstandings, the learning to accept yourself for who you are, and everything is all TOO real. Everyone needs to read this book. It's all so true
...I can say that honestly from someone who has been there for 25 years and dealt with ALL of these issues and feelings for over 25 years, since the age of 16.

One of the best!
Revisado: 11-15-18
Excellent book with great narration. I couldn't stop listening. I loved all the references to classic video games I grew up with and how the story was one big video game. It was a cliffhanger that had me on an emotional roller coaster. It was one of those books that kept me awake late until I was done reading it. I will definitely listen to this one again! The story alone is great, but I think the narration made it even more captivating. The book was so good that I have no desire to see the movie...one reason I read the book was so I could see the movie (I always read a book first). Once it was over, I decided I really don't want a movie to destroy any images I created! #futuristic #suspenseful #otherworld #tagsgiving #sweepstakes
