Historia
Young Hiram Walker was born into bondage. When his mother was sold away, Hiram was robbed of all memory of her - but was gifted with a mysterious power. Years later, when Hiram almost drowns in a river, that same power saves his life. This brush with death births an urgency in Hiram and a daring scheme: to escape from the only home he’s ever known. So begins an unexpected journey that takes Hiram from the corrupt grandeur of Virginia’s proud plantations to desperate guerrilla cells in the wilderness, from the coffin of the South to dangerously idealistic movements in the North.

Still reeling from this story.

A fascinating and visceral story. The narrator was perfect. Well done on every level. So much to process.

Historia
Each of us will know physical pain in our lives, but none of us knows when it will come or how long it will stay. Today as much as 10 percent of the population of the United States suffers from chronic pain. It is more widespread, misdiagnosed, and undertreated than any major disease. While recent research has shown that pain produces pathological changes to the brain and spinal cord, many doctors and patients still labor under misguided cultural notions and outdated scientific dogmas.

Not what I was expecting
Revisado: 04-17-17
I did not care for the narrator or for the presentation. I felt there was a lot of repetition as well. The main thing was that the book was not what I expected it to be about. However, I could have misinterpreted the review

Historia
In a series of enticing, irresistibly practical dialogues, the Guides of I Am the Word identify the emotional "boulders" that displace our authentic selves and consume our potential. The Guides provide to-the-point psychological and existential insights, along with self-developing exercises and affirmations, which begin to strip away residues of fear, self-doubt, and self-suffocating habits.

Information we need now...
Revisado: 12-24-16
I've been a seeker most of my life. I've fallen back into the material/physical reality often on this trip yet my connection with my higher consciousness has always stayed with me. Sometime softly, when I've lost focus, other time loudly. Lately I've noticed a change, for the better, in my way of being. And then I came upon Paul Selig and this book. I feel ready for the continued unfolding of my Christ consciousness and that that there are many more of us with their readiness. Thank you Paul and Victoria for moving beyond fears you may have had in acknowledging your belief and cooperation with the guides. I look forward to this trip.
I recommend this book to all who are drawn to it. Follow that nudge fearlessly.

Historia
If you could travel back to the world of ancient Palestine and hear Jesus teach in his own native tongue, what would you learn? Join Neil Douglas-Klotz, the brilliant translator and best selling author of Prayers of the Cosmos, as he delves into early New Testament scriptures written in Aramaic - the original language of Jesus and his followers. Overlooked for centuries by all but a small minority of the world's Christians, these sacred texts rejuvenate the teachings of Jesus with an original subtlety and richness of meaning found in no other translation. Douglas-Klotz draws us deeply into these passages of the Gospels - including the Beatitudes and the Lord's Prayer - and then adds to his passionate scholarship by teaching us a series of body-centered meditations for interpreting and reflecting on these sacred words in much the same way as the early Christians did. What lies hidden within these scriptures may surprise many: a visionary Christ who transcends the narrow and the dogmatic to offer us a grand cosmology based on the earthy wisdom of an ancient desert people.

Making sense...
Revisado: 08-08-15
Neil narrates his books better than anyone else can. His journey of the discovery of his beliefs is fascinating and similar to many, I suspect. He makes the words of Jesus finally make sense.

Historia
Sometimes we find the solutions to life's deepest mysteries in the most unlikely places. In hindsight, we often find that the most elusive answers were, in fact, right before our eyes. We simply didn't recognize them. Awakening the Power of a Modern God: Unlock the Mystery and Healing of Your Spiritual DNA deciphers the great spiritual mystery of how we interact with the forces of creation.

Expanded idea of who and what we are..
Revisado: 11-09-14
Would you listen to Awakening the Power of Modern God again? Why?
Am doing so now because it is full of fresh and powerful thoughts and ideas about us and how we interact with what we call the universe.
What did you like best about this story?
This verified my own feelings of our limiting ourselves, our connection and communication with God/the Universe
What does Gregg Braden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He has the ability to explain a complex idea in an easy-to-listen to voice.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, because the information is new, deep, and often complicated so I like to take it in smaller bites and process it.
