The title is a bit misleading. This book exists to give hope to Gen-Z that they can turn their TikTok obsession into a huge cash payout...thus proving their parents wrong. While providing solid content development recommendations, there is nothing new here...just a new package for aspiring influences.

I just can't get enough of Stephen Fry retelling the classic Greek myths and legends. Although it's supposedly the end of the series...I'm hoping for a Odyssey to close out the epic story started in Troy.

Stephen Fry has expertly rekindled my dormant love of the classic Greek myths I first discovered in fifth grade. Expertly retold and read...I could listen to this over and over again.

Everything about this book is great! The expert retelling of these classical Greek stories is the perfect mix of analytical detail and whimsical reimagining. I could listen to this a million times.

In theory, all of the concepts discussed in this book are good to know. Unfortunately, the weakness of the book is outlined in the first section, when the author clearly states he did not organize this book into a system or logical order of reference. As a result, the book kinda goes everywhere and nowhere at the same time. Because there is not a throughline or consistent methodology behind the logic or concepts discussed in the book, it all feels very scattershot.

This book is a great foundational resource for marketing overview across an organization. It operates very much like a textbook you'd find in a college, but with more accessible information. While it could do with a slight refresh in some of the examples and more current representation of digital advertising, overall the fundamentals and foundations described are sound.

The core principles of this book are accurate, but the book is so outdated at this point that it is almost hilarious to listen to the examples given. Maybe in the year 2000 when this book was published. These were appropriate examples, but now in 2022 this book reads like a time capsule from before digital advertising existed. There is definitely a need for the authors to update with a new edition, 20 some odd years later, because the fundamental principles of differentiation still hold true, but with such outdated examples the book feels irrelevant.

Long commercial for their virtual assistant service

The big take away from this is how the authors figured out how to get Amazon/Audible to pay them to write a book that is essentially a commercial for the virtual assistant service that they set up.

There are no practical guides. It's not really a long book, but it is an incredibly long commercial.
