This was a fun and unique story. It definitely grabbed my heart as a dog owner. It addressed common desires behind every pet owner who sees their pet as more than just an animal. Performance enhanced the story.

Interesting listen that is kinda dark.

The main character is pretty dark. It was an interesting story, but I found it difficult to have empathy for the main character. I am guessing the author was trying to portray him as a tragic hero. I did not find anything redeeming about him. Hopefully this turns around in the next book.

This is another variation on the end-of-the-world theme. Understanding that this is a fantasy book, the story is a bit too fantastical - good concept but not very believable. I had a hard time feeling empathy for the hero. The performance was good.

The plot and theme are variations on the popular modern kids transport to fantasy magical world and saves the day. The story is well written. However, I was not engaged throughout the narration. These tended to happen at points that were too detailed. The performance enhanced to the story.

Hi, how are you? Yes, I am talking to you, the reader of this book's description. Okay, I get it, fourth-wall breaking is overdone. Get over it. This book, Villains Rule, is a fantasy action-comedy which you have to hear. Not because it redefines the genre, far from it. But rather for what it contains. A villain's tale. How often do you get to listen to a story where the villain is the protagonist? No, not an anti-hero, or a brooding monster, nor a hero thinly disguised as a villain. And not evil. If you want evil, take that nonsense to therapy.

This story had a lot of unique and fascinating twists mixing modern world with fantasy worlds. It also address good versus evil and villain versus hero in a unique and interesting way. I also enjoyed how the story was written in first person from the main character’s viewpoint. The performance was stellar. Definitely recommend reading!

These were amazing listens! The plot unfolded smoothly with some unexpected twists. History and characters were well developed in an interesting and sometimes funny way. The books flowed together, but I also felt just the right amount of history was given that I could have started listening at any of the books and not been lost. The performance was excellent! It really added life to the story.

This book moved along better than the first book. It still waxed philosophical and dragged on at points. The characters and world portrayed are idealistic: too perfect to be believable. The main characters have no flaws. The performance is decent.
