Historia
Jade, the mysterious and magical substance once exclusive to the Green Bone warriors of Kekon, is now coveted throughout the world. Everyone wants access to the supernatural abilities it provides, from traditional forces such as governments, mercenaries, and criminal kingpins, to modern players, including doctors, athletes, and movie studios. As the struggle over the control of jade grows ever larger and more deadly, the Kaul family, and the ancient ways of the Kekonese Green Bones, will never be the same.

Phenomenal
Revisado: 10-17-23
When I started the first book I wasn’t thrilled by the narration, but by the end I couldn’t imagine it any other way. As for the writing of the story itself it’s absolutely brilliant. Some of the best world building I’ve ever experienced. Characters are complex and nuanced. The twists are unpredictable but meaningful. I will always think of this trilogy Fonda Lee (hehe *snort*).

This is buggy for some reason. When I try and visit other titles in my library it take me here, and I can’t figure out how to remove it. Very annoying.

Absolutely wonerful
Revisado: 08-03-23
Starts on the same premise of Beware of Chicken but takes that premise in a completely different and unique direction. Contains some similar humor to that one but builds its own very in depth take on the taoist philosophies that underlie cultivation novels. In that particular respect, in many ways I find this one to be possibly the most spiritually inspiring of any I’ve yet to read in the genre. I very much look forward to the sequel.

Historia
This is the way the world ends, for the last time. The season of endings grows darker, as civilization fades into the long cold night. Essun - once Damaya, once Syenite, now avenger - has found shelter, but not her daughter. Instead there is Alabaster Tenring, destroyer of the world, with a request. But if Essun does what he asks, it would seal the fate of the Stillness forever. Far away, her daughter Nassun is growing in power - and her choices will break the world.

Historia
So many stories begin the same way: With a prophecy. A chosen one. And the inevitable quest to slay a villain, save the kingdom, and fulfill a grand destiny. But this is not that kind of story. It does begin with a prophecy: A child will rise to defeat the Eternal Khan, a cruel immortal god-king, and save the kingdom. And that prophecy did anoint a hero, Jian, raised since birth in luxury and splendor, and celebrated before he has won a single battle.

Just phenomenally
Revisado: 03-01-23
It’s my first book written by Wesley Chu and first book narrated by Natalie Naudus, and truth me told I’m not certain which one I owe my enjoyment of this title too more. It was a well written story full of three dimensional characters, brought to life with amazing voice work by Natalie. I l’ve had to now queue several books by both of them, but I can’t wait for the sequel when they can combine their talents again.

In this revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him, Mary L. Trump, a trained clinical psychologist and Donald’s only niece, shines a bright light on the dark history of their family in order to explain how her uncle became the man who now threatens the world’s health, economic security, and social fabric.

The best psychological analysis of the president
Revisado: 08-09-20
Marry Trump’s book is a phenomenal work. Her insight, both as a family member and a psychologist, provide a lens into the mind and behavior of President Trump than many authors have circled around, but none have nailed down quite so accurately.
As a passionate student of the current history we are living, nothing she says is particularly shocking. But her anecdotes and analysis to provide the final puzzle pieces which connect all the dots. After this book, I have no more questions. I have no more bewilderment. I don’t wonder “how” or “why” anymore. The horror story we are living is no longer a suspense thriller in which the mechanisms remain unclear. It is a shitty 80’s slasher that is grotesque but shallow. In some ways, that’s preferable, and I thank her for enabling, finally, a full comprehension of the pathology we are suffering under.
