WOW!!! Just WOW!

OK, I so was not prepared for how good this book would be! I have been floundering around, listening to samples for weeks trying to find something that I haven’t already read and something that was actually good and not totally cheesy. This is brilliant! A very fresh approach to Faye kingdoms new magic excellent world building incredibly suspenseful beautifully written and gut wrenching! I absolutely adored some of these characters and absolutely despised some of these characters! I am devastated that the rest of the series is not available! If you have already read all of the romantasy mega series out there like I have, this is finally something you will enjoy

Very long winded

I feel like I listened to two hours and hours of this book and absolutely nothing happened. The lead male character is not very likable. All he does is whine the entire book about how he is not worthy of his mate and how he just wants to sink
his cock into her, Quite literally that’s all he ever says in the entire book. And then the book just ends. Cliffhanger it just ends.

Wow! I was not prepared to love this as much as I did!!! The narrator was absolute perfection! I can not wait for book 2! I am definitely hoping for more back story! Also does the mainland not have witches or not care about witches?

I just don’t get what all the fuss is about

I don’t understand the fervor that accompanies this series I have now read all three and it just doesn’t do it for me. I really really hate the FMC. She is stupid and how everyone could love and follow someone so inconsiderate and blatantly stupid is beyond me the entire first part of this book is so repetitive where each and every Character almost dies over and over again. I find the series boring repetitive and somewhat painful but I guess I will stick with it since everybody else seems to think I’m wrong.

Ocean 11

I liked the ocean 11 dynamic all of the individual points of view and parts. They play in the story, but some of the characters were just downright stupid. This was only OK for me. I doubt I will read the next book.

I believe all of the fantastic reviews I’ve seen and recommendations from booktalk about this book however, I struggled through it. I think it was truly the narrator that ruined it for me she kept using this high-pitched, whiny, shrill little girl voice for the main female character, which made me completely hate the main character, I don’t understand why she would use this voice or why there were no editors who told her to stop it! I may try to go back and reread the book and see if I can become an invested in the story, but this was definitely a case of the narrator ruining the book

Blown away by this magnificent prose

I feel completely ill equipped to write a review of this masterpiece. Anything I could say is completely inadequate. I am beyond elated that I chose to listen to it bc the narration was incomparable. The writing, the story, characters are rich and colorful. 10000 stars! I hope HBO makes this book a series

Painful Dialogue

After reading so many great reviews, I was very excited to dive into this New World. Perhaps my experience was colored by the narrator, which, in my opinion was very poorly done. None of the characters have any depth. The world building is shallow at best. The dialogue is so juvenile, and their interactions feel like a cheesy therapy session . For people who have lived many many centuries, they talk like millennials and have no life experiences or talents or life lessons to draw on. Unfortunately, this series ends for me at Book 1.

Get past the narrator

I loved Fourth Wing, and I was super excited for this book, but I really struggled with it because the narration was really bad. The narrator used the wrong voice for the wrong characters, and it was very confusing at times also, sometimes she was so fast and exasperated and yelling I could not really tell what was going on, several times I had to replay to figure out what I was hearing

Unfortunately, I am four hours into this book, and I am completely bored and unstimulatef I struggled with this narrator in the blood and ash series, and never finished the series. For the same reason. It looks like I will be returning this one.
