Historia
Anna Kendrick's autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood's most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick's essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she's experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

A storm of charming and informative anekdotes
Revisado: 11-16-16
Would you listen to Scrappy Little Nobody again? Why?
Absolutely. I feel like I have to in order to have a full grasp of the life of Anna Kendrick.
What did you like best about this story?
I never tire of self-deprecation but I loved her upbringing even more.
Which character – as performed by Anna Kendrick – was your favorite?
Luke, I enjoyed his supposed charm in telling Anna on the boat "you're the only female here that I haven't grown up with, let's do this" possibly not knowing how into him she was.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Enjoy the stage you're at.
Any additional comments?
Anna has a fantastic narrator voice. The audiobook was a nice supplement to mundane work.

Historia
The Pixar Touch is a lively chronicle of Pixar Animation Studios' history and evolution, and the "fraternity of geeks" who shaped it. With the help of visionary businessman Steve Jobs and animating genius John Lasseter, Pixar has become the gold standard of animated filmmaking, beginning with a short special effects shot made at Lucasfilm in 1982 all the way up through the landmark films Toy Story, Finding Nemo, Wall-E, and others.

The word In-depth does not do this piece justice!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, however I am usually the animation buff in the room but I have told friends and family how all-encompassing and fascinating this work is. It covers a lot! A lot! The founders of Pixar, the pillars of the company as well as the most successful films made by Pixar.
What did you like best about this story?
The characters were brought in chronologically as the story progressed, I learned new things regarding the circumstances in which Pixar found itself at several points in history and how the rest of the industry "helped" make Pixar work.
Which scene was your favorite?
The scene in which Michael Isner was forced to abdicate from his throne because his arrogance was poisonous and he was worse than he was better.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
The reason behind some of the crappy Disney sequels and why Toy Story 2 was made.

Historia
Lewis Black uses his natural talent for hiding subtle comedy inside explosive outbursts to full effect in this new one-hour stand-up event. Compelled by his passions and his discontentedness with the absurdities of the world, he erupts in hand-shaking, body-trembling motion as he spews his signature diatribe-laced dialectic comedy.

He is funny and angrily enlightening!

Would you listen to Stark Raving Black again? Why?
I have listened to this audiobook several times. It is great comedy and kills time in the best way!
What other book might you compare Stark Raving Black to and why?
Possibly Russell Peters' audiobook (Red, White and Brown?) as they are both stand-up performances but they both cover civic satirical comedy. Black going after politicians in a hilarious way while Peters examines cultural differences.
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I have not.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, it is not very long. There are podcast episodes that are way longer so take a walk or go to the gym or something while listening to this.
Any additional comments?
No, I have said enough.
