I’ve read a number of tier one operator books, and they’re great a lot of action and a glimpse of what combat is like, but this guy raw dogs combat. It’s not some slick choreographed espionage/world saving event. It’s just Americas finest warriors versus the enemy. America’s finest, who are in the early 20s and don’t know shit but are figuring it out.

While various groups are busy banning books from libraries, this book should be placed in every library. It should be on every reading list for every civics course across America.

For everyone who knows or believes or suspects that trump and the GOP are world-class fabricators of an alternate reality Miles Taylor provides the real story of how close we came to losing America. Taylor reminds us not to kid ourselves that it’s over. The next trump is standing in the wings, ready to strip away any remaining democratic rights and take on the mantle of dictator. I’m not some starry eyed altruist that feels America is the role model for democracy, but I do believe that what we have is special, even if it is flawed and I would hate to see it dismantled by someone as undeserving as trump.

Make no mistake America is under attack, under attack from within.

Usually with this type of work, there is a bias, a bias that supports the writers thesis. Although it’s true, that Dr. Attia has an agenda, his agenda is offering the tools to help all of us live a longer and healthier life. Who can argue with that?

I’ve already suggested to dozens of people that they purchase and read this book. It’s easy because I believe every word that he has written. I appreciate his common sense, matter-of-fact approach to issues that are often clouded by the so-called experts in their field, who are trying to sell some thing. If Peter is selling anything, it’s the chance to live a longer healthier life. Not through some scheme or a recipe for quick success, but by cutting too the heart of issues that we humans all face.

This is the first book in decades that I have dogeared and underlined, because I intend to use it as a reference going forward. I’m actually considering selecting a general practitioner based on whether or not they have read Outlive.

This story is sublime. It gives a historical framework of all things human helping to put mankind in perspective. I’m sure I will read this again, there’s way too much information for a single reading. I’m also looking forward to other books by this author.

I don’t read a whole lot of fiction these days, but I’ve always loved the Poison Wood Bible. When I saw Demon Copperhead as a new release by Barbara Kingsolver, I took a chance. This is the best book I have read in years. The first person narrative of a West Virginia hillbilly in his formative years, from about 10 to 18, is no less than genius. There were lines in the story that I wanted to stop and write down because they were so good but there were too many of them I’ll just have to read the book again.

First of all the narration of the book was excellent. Having read four or five books by James Michener this will researched saga came as no surprise. Michener’s attention to detail is impeccable, but his real strength lies in being able to tell a story that brings to life characters, who, in this case, truly define what it was to be an American frontiersmen.
I also appreciate the way he uses this backdrop to share his own opinions about both the ingenuity of the new Americans and the total destruction that they wreaked on North America. Westward expansion destroyed the Native Americans, who had coexisted on the plains for millennia, for no other reason than the simple fact that the Europeans were afraid of them. These same foolish people decimated beaver, Buffalo, prairie dog, American bald eagle, bear. They destroyed rivers by diverting them or if they suspected there was gold in them, they stripped them. The dust bowl that many of us have heard about, was created by their poor farming techniques and lack of respect or understanding for the land. Michener pulls no punches when he accuses us all of having been poor stewards of the land, but he does show us a glimmer of hope. The new awareness for what we have, and what we need to do to restore balance to our land, air and water.

The story of the life of Leonardo da Vinci is as beautiful as the paintings he created. We should all be fortunate enough to live such full and exceptional lives.

As a college undergraduate I studied bio chemistry. The questions I had then we’re never satisfactorily answered. Richard Dawkins has answered all those questions and more. I wish I had read this book years ago.

Well researched and beautifully presented material. I appreciate that the author doesn’t stop at simply exposing the problems of corruption in modern society but also offers solutions that we, as a society, can choose to implement, both at the level of household or neighborhood to the highest levels of governance.

I for one genuinely believe that his suggestion of a shadow panel created randomly and representing the majority of the population created to explore solutions for the big problems that we are confronted with today would be the first step in avoiding the hyper partisan politicization of government that we are experiencing today and put our elected officials on notice when they are being corrupt and ignoring the will of the people. My only suggestion would be that we may want to change the name “shadow panel” to something that doesn’t sound quite so Orwellian.

Probably not a book for everyone, but for anyone serious about medical diagnostic thinking this book is excellent. I learned an enormous amount about the logic and progression of a diagnosis and because of that I will be a much better advocate for my health in the future.

We all know that doctors are fallible and at this point in time the insurance industry does not allow them enough time to fully commit to a patient’s case. The fault largely falls with the system and not necessarily the doctor. Becoming a more critical thinker about our own health or disease strengthens us to be better advocates for our own health and the health of our loved ones.
