Revisado: 06-15-24
Great story from the get go.
First page except for a bit of violence in the first chapter or so. Language- g rating
Around the end of the 1/3 of the book, there is a massacre by Indians. Pretty graphic. I ending up skipping over some of it. The story moved along quickly and was interesting. The romance got pretty racey along chapter 24 for a few chapters. Then the violence and Indians raid again and from then on until almost the last chapter, the story got a sick kind of violent. I can take violence. But not against defenseless women. I wont be reading the next two books. I will say the writer does have talent. I would like to see her write without the violence and bedroom scenes.

So much ... Anger.
Revisado: 05-07-23
I thought this could have been a good story. But 5 chapters in, the story didnt progress beyond the mystery of why the mom and daughter had to keep hiding. It was too drawn out.

Boring. Gave it several changes
Revisado: 05-07-23
Narrator was pretty stoic. Almost robotic in places. The story sure had potential it just never got better. I skipped forward several chapters. The story still wasn’t interesting. Gave it my best shot. No go.

Well developed characters. Story line was sad in places but pulled together at the end neatly. Sometimes a little wordy in places, but a very enjoyable read.

Glacier National Park police officer Monty Harris knows that each summer at least one person - be it a reckless, arrogant climber or a distracted hiker - will meet tragedy in the park. But Paul "Wolfie" Sedgewick's fatal fall from the sheer cliffs near Going-to-the-Sun Road is incomprehensible. Wolfie was an experienced and highly regarded wildlife biologist who knew all too well the perils that Glacier's treacherous terrain presents - and how to avoid them.

Excellent writer....BUT
Revisado: 12-11-20
It was a great story. Easy to follow the story line and characters. Monty is somewhat self-centered, but caring. I enjoyed the story for the first half of the book.just a few curse words. BUT. The second half i wondered if the writer had to add to the amount per word he was getting paid for. F bomb over the top. Among other of overused curse words. The reader probably gets it that the characters are mad or frustrated. There are more words in our language that can describe feelings easy enough without the f bomb or other curse words.

Boring . Terrible narrator
Revisado: 08-05-20
The whole story was disappointing. It failed to keep my interest. Also the narrators voice sounded like she was ticked off . It sounded like she was angry and clenching her teeth. I dont recommend this book at all.

My name is Gemma Keyes. Other than my name, I am utterly forgettable - so those who never paid much attention to me in the first place haven't exactly noticed that I've disappeared. Vanished. Revisado: 06-03-20
Hang in listening through part one. A lot of information which of course starts adding up in part two. I highly recommend this book. I knew I would download and listen to book 2 back to back! I rarely listen to series back to back- I’m well into book 2. I’m not disappointed.

Boring!
Revisado: 02-26-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The story line is slow to start. Too many characters presented from the get-go. I didn't listen past the first hour.
The narrator was excellent.
What could Lisa Tawn Bergren have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Fewer characters from the start. Move the story line to the ship quicker and move the story along faster once they get there.
What does Stephanie Brush bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Great pronounciations. Clear reading.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Captain's Bride?
Within the first hour? Maybe half of it.
