Historia
For months, Mitch Rapp has been steadily working his way through a list of men, bullet by bullet. With each kill, the tangled network of monsters responsible for the slaughter of 270 civilians becomes increasingly clear. He is given his next target: a plump Libyan diplomat who is prone to drink and is currently in Paris without a single bodyguard. Rapp finds him completely unprotected and asleep in his bed. With confidence in his well-honed skills and conviction of the man’s guilt, he easily sends a bullet into the man’s skull. But in the split second it takes the bullet to leave the silenced pistol, everything changes.

I was not expecting Fredrick Forsyeth or Gerrald Seymor level adventure, but I was hoping for something better than this.
The publishers summary was gar better written than the book.
The story and the characters are paper thin and the method the author uses to introduce them is extremely lazy or he doesn't trust his readers to have any inside at all.
The action sequences are few and far between and do not provide much suspence
The narration was OK although I found that Mitches love interests voice to be extremely annoying, although that may have been a result of the insipid dialog.
This is thebkind of book that I listen to when I am working along and want some background noise.
I do not need to follow the story to closely and can concentrate on what I should be doing without worrying I will miss either a really good line or an important plot development.
Not worth a credit.

Historia
Mark Franklin came from the American West to Edwardian England with two long-barrelled .44s in his baggage and a fortune in silver in the bank. Where he had got it and what he was looking for no one could guess, although they wondered -- at Scotland Yard, in City offices, in the glittering theatreland of the West End, in the highest circles of Society (even King Edward was puzzled) and in the humble pub at Castle Lancing.

Excellent
Revisado: 09-11-22
A great book by one of my favorite authors and narrator's.
Mr. Fraser has used this novel to paint a picture of England just before the first world war. I got a sense of what it must have been like to have been a wealthy upper class person in that time.
The story is not fast paced in fact mostly the opposite and that gives you time to absorb the atmosphere.
David Case aka Fredrick Davidson and a couple more aliases that I cannot recall is excellent as always.
Personally I wish Mr. Frasier would have been kinder to some of hi characters, but that is life.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and without giving away to much (I hope) the appearance of Harry Flashman was an excellent and well enjoyed surprise
I just wish that Mr. Fraser and Mr case where still among us so I could let them know how much I enjoyed their work.

A great adventure with perfect narration.
Revisado: 12-30-20
in 1919 Captain Sheppard set off from New York to San Francisco.
What follows is an epic journey. It paints a picture of the United States a century ago and is immensely interesting.
It also told with classic British understatement and humour drier than a martini with no vermouth.
in addition to that the narrator does the dialects so perfectly that when listening to the conversations you could swear there were two people.
I have listened to over 400 audio books and this one is in the top 5.
I will definitely be listening to it again.
Highly Recommended.

Very enjoyable
Revisado: 12-27-20
This is not really a book about Rust, instead rust is a theme that allows the author to tie several different characters together. they all have a story and I found them all to be very interesting.
I feel the narrator was absolutely perfect for this book and I did not notice any production issues at all.
Halfway through the book I ended up looking for information on the author purchased his next book and am looking forward to it.
I will also have a look for more books read by Christopher Lane.

Historia
This radical new book concentrates on the way in which each side tried to use or deny the sea to the other, and in so doing describes rapid wartime changes not only in ship and weapons technology but also in the way naval warfare was envisaged and fought. Melding strategic, technical, and tactical aspects, Friedman approaches World War I from a fresh perspective and demonstrates how its perceived lessons dominated the way navies prepared for World War II.

An excellent book.
Revisado: 11-24-20
As the cover suggests this book covers the strategy , tactics and technology used by the English , Germans and to a lesser extent the Americans up to and during the first world war.
If you are looking for adventure stories of the naval battles of the first world war then this book is not for you.
However if you are interested in the technology and strategy used then this book is excellent.
It opened my eyes to the amount of planning required to implement an operation and shows how battles at sea can be a real chess match.
I learned a lot of interesting facts and it really open my eyes to the huge scope of the naval side of the first world war. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was the I felt it did not cover the range finding, gun and torpedo aiming in as much detail as it deserved, but the amount of research that went into this book is extraordinary.

What? You don’t know Adam Wade? Here’s your chance! Adam Wade’s personal-yet-universal stories and vulnerable delivery have made him one of the most popular storytellers and comedians in the country on "story slam" platforms like The Moth and Comedy Central’s Whiplash. This Audible Original, performed on stage in front of a live audience, combines Wade’s greatest hits stories with entirely new material.

Surprisingly good actually great!
Revisado: 06-17-19
I just finished listening to a collection of books that took over 80 hours to get through and I wish there was more!
I don't listen to a lot of fantasy / science fiction but this was on sale and I wanted a bit of a break from some of the heavier stuff I was listening to.
I figured I would listen to a book or to and then go back to something else but ended up listening to the whole thing in one shot (over a period of 2-3 weeks).
It took about 10-15 minutes and I was hooked.
The story line is well put together, the motivations of the characters were realistic enough to have me actually caring about the them, the production quality is top notch and the narrator is one of the best, Mikael Naramore is as enjoyable to listen to as Frederick Davidson, Stephen Fry or Gerard Doyle.
I only do a review if I really enjoy or loathe something, This was a great listen and do the quantity of material vs the cost provided some of the best bang for the buck that you can get.
Don't be intimidated by the length, I would be willing to wager that you like me wouldn't have minded a few more hours.

50 + hours and I want more!
Revisado: 02-16-19
For those of you not familiar with John Carter you will be introduced to a true American hero.
Honourable chivalrous an outstanding leader and warrior, ever ready to lay his life on the line for honour love and pride. A true man.
I can just see John Carter announce he is from Virginia in the same challenging manner that Tom Brady announces Michigan as his Alma mater.
I you want adventure action and stories of heroism then this is the collection for you.
At over 50 hours for one credit there are few listens that match this value.
Be warned, you may be left wanting more.
in addition to the great stories the production is excellent as well. Eric Vincent does a great job narrating , the sound levels are great and there is not a lot of window dressing that some productions use that in my opinion take away from the book.
With material this strong window dressing is not required.
Burroughs proves he can hang with the likes of Conan Doyle and H. Rider Haggard.
