So much angst!

First up is the narration for this title which was good. The males were growly, the females strong, with emotion, and story-telling with the inflections that colored the words.

The story starts, well not the middle, but certainly not the beginning either as we watch as our heroine Remy tries to figure out what is happening to her and what happened in her past that brought her to this point. She is surrounded by angels, Nephilim, and others who are drawn to her power. The greatest part of the story is that she continues to chose good over the evil that everyone expects her to want. Then I was shocked as another series by the author suddenly tied in to this story (Melkor & Purity!!! which you should also totally listen to!) which suddenly made several plot points that had sounded familiar comforting as now you knew the author was working in the same universe, but a different angle.

Bottom line: Well worth the time investment!

Another great story!

Yet again, Jane is forced to go on a trip through several countries while hunting down nefarious characters - this time to help her brother. Jane is accompanied by her soon to be step-mom and we get to see how her actions look to those outside of her. The really funny part is that they are both having the same thoughts, but Jane has the nerve or chutzpah or just stupid bravery to keep going forward. Even though this was a Christmas adventure, there wasn't much of the holiday in it which was mildly disappointing. However, the plot and the action are enough to keep the reader entertained and listening to the end which was picture-postcard perfect.

The narrator is the same as the last two books in the series which I really appreciate. She has the attitude of Jane perfectly and draws you instantly into the story. She is Jane Barnaby.

Bottom Line: I hope there is another book to this highly entertaining series soon!

Angel versus demon????

What happens when they are on the same side?? Chaos, but wonderful chaos. An end-of-the-world apocalypse with an Anti-Christ that doesn't want it to happen - and most of the angels, demons, and horsemen agree. The hoops that must be arranged before they can be jumped through and the total laugh out loud moments make this a truly fun listen.

Bottom line: Listen - this will give you more hope than you would expect possible.

This house is amazing!

Katie went from pathetic to whiny to needy to courage to strong to determined to - well the entire range that every woman goes through when she is forced to face her demons. Fortunately, she makes the right friends on the island and they help her to learn what she needs to know to grow - oh! and solve the mystery of her parent's deaths among other things as she deals with life in general.

Annalise is the house and I do mean that there is personality and strength and courage from the house because it is alive and also takes part in helping Katie to figure out life. She is also jealous which causes other problems.

The narration was good and really brought out the variations of Katie and her strengths and weaknesses.

Bottom line: this is a great listen to for a long weekend while you knock back a few margaritas.

Where, or better yet who, is Alice?

Emily gets her dream of attending a private school and meets a wide range of characters. Part of her scholarship is a house to live in with another girl - Alice. Then Alice disappears and nobody seems to know who she was, where she can from, or where she could have gone. Emily has made it a practice to do video diary entries and we follow the clues with her to the unexpected end.

Bottom line: A fabulous way to spend a weekend afternoon trying to figure out the mystery first.

Mermaid versus Dragon

Ancient enemies that have a LOT of history which does not make trust possible. Sadly, trust is necessary if either one is going to get out of this situation. Of course, that amount of trust leaves the reader hoping that both will get out at least mostly safely. The barbs that fly between them do show that there may be more than just the past between them.....

The narration was great with character distinction and emotion bringing depth to the story.

Bottom line: This is the BEST way to spend an afternoon on the weekend while you can concentrate on the great story.

Christmas story!

We get to follow the brother Abraham Schuster who wants desperately to be in love and be married. He almost doesn't care who it is because he just wants to be married and settled down and have a person to share holidays and special times with. God, however, wants better for Abraham than he wants for himself.

The narration was decent at character distinction but could use more emotional range.

Bottom line: An enjoyable read to help answer questions about the correct way to handle relationship issues and questions.

Too short!

I was happy that this was a continuation of Samantha's story with tidbits of her sibling's stories. So often you are left to assume a happily ever after, but now you get to see what happens the next week.

The narration was decent with character voice distinction, but maybe not enough emotion for the events being described.

Bottom line: Great listen while you do housework!

Sweet second chance

Samantha thinks she has life figured out. She and her boyfriend will work together at a restaurant until they get married and then she will be able to stay home and raise kinder. The boyfriend has other ideas.

We watch Samantha step out in faith as she decides to try for another job opportunity in town. She is challenged in learning a new job, being attracted to a few different men, and trying to determine her true path.

The narration is good with enough difference in voices to distinguish the characters and help to breathe life into the characters.

Bottom line: Nice relaxing way to spend an afternoon.

Hilarious!

Starting out by addressing negative reviews of the previous book was just funny. Then creating a situation that lets Jimmy the Intern shine as much as Tom Stranger himself - and they both shine like diamonds in the rough. Poor Tom was out of his element and actually needed Jimmy - who was up for a job review.

Regardless of what you think of Adam Baldwin personally, he is a fabulous narrator and PERFECT for this series.

Bottom line: A hilarious way to spend an afternoon.
