Wow! What a beautifully written romance. What a beautifully well written romantic story...a beautifully well written romantic grown folk's story. There was not one part of said story that faltered or wasn't engaging. I also loved the unique form and style in which the story was presented.
The characters were all well rounded, well developed and real. The dialogue was authentic and not a hint of baseless conflict.
And the sex scenes.? Scorching hot and deliciously explicit. Yet the care in which the author took to make those intimate scenes more enticing and alluring and less gratuitous-sex-scene-moment, was so divine and extremely appreciated.

I love these two narrators. Each is an automatic buy for me. Accordingly, narration was top shelf. Stella narrated more chapters than Teddy. I mean of the 48 chapters I think he may have done 20 and they were (as usual) awesome. But here's the thing, I didn't 'miss' Teddy's recited chapters. IOW, Stella could have narrated the whole story. Her male voice is that good. Don't get me wrong I appreciated that Teddy narrated the parts he did. But Stella...Stella was unbelievable good. ~ '"Hey Stella"!! Vulnerable, scared, apprehensive, determined--are some of the elements of the heroine's sensibility and she nailed each emotion. Her performance was stunning!
Get it...get this darn audiobook, you won't regret it!

Beautifully engaging story. Didn't want it to end. Romance, intrigue, drama not histrionics. As for sex? yeah, it's hot but it not gratuitously written. The romantic scenario is a nice believable slow account.

Narration was top notch. Stella was wonderful. She portrayed a defiant, strong heroine wonderfully, and yet you are able to appreciate her vulnerability. Her 'male' voice is good too.
Jacob, as usual, gives a stellar performance as the alpha hero. Jacob is not only versatile in his ability to produce distinguishable voices to all his characters, but he depicts a tough yet guarded hero to the hilt.
Yeah, worth a credit.

The plot is the usual arranged marriage, will it or won't it turn into real marriage fare, which I love. There are the usual misunderstandings, keeping feelings hidden, prideful-don't wanna get hurt-don't wanna confess first interplay going on and getting to the point where each confesses their feelings is always a sometimes frustrating, sometimes infuriating journey for me and most definitely for the characters. You wanna yell "...tell him/her already...". The sex scenes are hot-explicit words are used and the build-up to their first encounter was steaming.
But whether the plot is complicated, convoluted or convenient, it's the narrators that makes or breaks the experience for me.

The narration for this book was top notch. First, two words--Jacob Morgan who always insert such emotion in the characters he narrates, and this reading is no different. He envelopes the characters and because of this, I always become engrossed in the story from the first word. Elena is just as good and together they are fabulous.

This story has a whopper of a cliff-hanger.

This was absolutely awful, both in substance and format. The book was technically challenged and the narrator was drone-like . It was three hours to long.

I thought the premise of the story was intriguing. I thought the first few chapters of the book was spot on. But then once learning of Jules 'secret' the story just seemed to veer off into a melodramatic saga...a repetitious meandering saga at that.
For one thing Julie became the most annoying heroine. Her constant second guessing and internalizing was aggravating AND ceaseless. Their misunderstandings and miscommunication as a foil seemed contrived somehow. The back and forth--does he, does she--will he won't she was dizzying.

Additionally she seemed hypocritical, what with promising not to lie to Griff whilst expecting him to be upfront and transparent. I suppose I should give her some consideration given her emotional fragility. Gotta tell ya, I was ready for the book to end.
I will say Julie's problem was a sad one and I was surprised by it's inclusion in the story, but not uncomfortable with it. I was certainly saddened for her.

Meanwhile, I just love the dual narration--just wish all audiobooks adapted this form.

So I thought the plot was okay and I loved the humor and witticisms throughout the story of the chapters I listened to. The female character internalizing thoughts and jumping to the wrong conclusion is par for the course in these kinds of stories. I expected it to be cutesy and an easy listen--at least that was my expectation having read the synopsis and the other reviews. TBH my other and more important expectation was listening to Jason Clarke do his thing. Do his swoony thing, and do that for as many chapters as possible and as long as possible. To recite those words in a manner that somehow elevates any story he narrates--bigtime. I was sorely disappointed on that front. Jason narrated maybe 5 off the 25 chapters.

Now I am not a big fan of Erin Mallon. I hate the breathy elongation of the ending of words that for some reason she chooses to insert in her narration. It's distracting and frankly unnecessary. It doesn't add to the story. It's not dramatic or interesting. It's not engaging or cute. I wish someone would ask her PLUEEZE not to do it. It grates on my nerves and with every announcement of a chapter this annoying habit squandered most of the joy of listening. So, yeah I skipped ALL but three of her chapters but was able to assimilate the gist of the story.

Four stars for performance only due to Jason.

This was a meaty, beautifully written, well thought out fabulously narrated tale of love and redemption.
The story of Drew and Ash was filled with peaches and cream moments as well as sweeping sadness. All in all a thrilling ride, with the most spectacular and heart warming outcome.
As for ZW's narration! Good lord this man..this man is beyond fabulous. He breathed life into the telling and injected a soul into the fictive.
Bravo!!

Misadventures of a female narrator

First, let me just say that I will beg, borrow, buy any media offerings narrated by Christian Fox.
Regardless of story or plot. whether there is one, or not, if Christian's name is on the ticket I'm gonna listen..dammit.

This story is simple and frankly weak. Vacuous plot even as the story idea seemed intriguing or at least I imagined there could have been a more interesting tale told.

And yet having CF do his thing, kept me 'involved' . But this Lucy person is one of the worst narrators I have had the misfortune to come across. Her voice was grating and what I supposed was meant to be sexy came off as perverted and unattractive. So, yeah I skipped every chapter she narrated.

She messed up an already compromised tale. Too bad.

I have listened to this book too many times to count. It doesn't get stale. It doesn't lag or wane my interest one tiny bit. Instead I'm uplifted and inspired by the story, and enthralled beyond measure by the excellent narration. I never wanted it to end!

For me, the narrator can do a couple of things in an audio presentation. Either enhance the story (making a so-so story come alive) or the voice and performance can detract and/or ultimately destroy moments within the story, or the whole story in fact. Or worse yet shatter the pleasure you anticipated whilst listening. I read the summary and liked the premise of this particular story and yes, I was prepared to thoroughly enjoy the ride. Unfortunately I couldn't get past chapter 3. Why? Horrid narration..Lemme say again--ghastly narration.

Mind you, there were inflection and intonation in the chapters that I actually appreciated as I cringingly listened, hoping that there would be some point (sooner rather than later) either the producer or the narrator himself would realize that there was a problem (don't they have playbacks?). ...but sadly I couldn't tell one main character from the other! The voices sounded exactly alike! so much so that I was distracted from the story itself. Too bad. Wasn't Christian Fox, Teddy Hamilton, Jacob Morgan or Cooper North available for crying out loud?

So no, this was a huge miss.
