Enthralling

This book changed how I think about Apple, Steve Jobs, and my own business. I find myself talking about this book with almost everyone. I’ve never been an Apple guy. I am now.

Fascinating!

I enjoyed this book immensely. Initially I thought he made a mistake reading it himself. I was very wrong. A truly inspiring story. I think I'll throw away all my Adidas paraphernalia now.

Historia
In 1789 HMS Bounty under the command of Lieutenant William Bligh sailed off on a voyage to Tahiti in the South Pacific to obtain breadfruit trees for transplanting in the Caribbean. After a long, difficult voyage, in which a passage of Cape Horn had to be abandoned, the ship finally reached its destination. Within a few months, the Bounty was loaded with breadfruit plants and fresh provisions. But the return voyage never materialized.

An interesting story that is both brilliantly written and artfully read. While I am only half way through, I'm sure it will end much too soon.

Historia
The Appalachian Trail trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America - majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaing guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way - and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in).

Funny but bitter...
Revisado: 12-27-16
Bryson is an excellent writer and the story is quite good. it's laugh-out-loud funny in many places. I found his history of the trail quite interesting. And the reader did a good job. What I can't understand is the way his tone could change on a dime when his thoughts turned to environmental and conservation issues, in which case he'd leave the story and the book goes from funny to bitterly serious (clearly he's a rabid environmentalist). And he does this continually throughout the book. It largely diminished the enjoyment I received from the work as a whole.
