I really was shocked how bad this book was given the ratings it has received.

Good story. It is too bad the repeated mispronounced name of one of the main characters in the audible book was very distracting.

The last few books in this series are just amazing to me. I feel like I learned so much about different countries at that time in the world. So meticulously historically researched and witty...with a great mystery.

I don't know how this series keeps getting better and better.

Jenny Sterlin is a marvel.

Not only is she the voice of Mary and Sherlock both so perfectly, I will go buy Audible book written by a different author just because she is the reader.

Thank you for this book and this reading!

I feel like the last few in this series were very witty. I love that Mary is becoming an adult true partner to Holmes, in that she doesn't think he is always wholly correct in his mindset. I really did not understand the reviewer who said that this novel barely featured Sherlock. And that Mary was being dismissive of the rich. This novel really seemed to me to show Sherlock Holmes at less than his finest, in his iinherent distrust of Mrs. Hudson, after all those years of her service. I loved Mary's love and understanding of Mrs. Hudson.

This book really did make me laugh out loud a number of times and my goodness, Jenny Sterlin ruins all other audible readers for me. She is as magnificent as Laurie R. King!

I love this book. I like the TV series. The reader for the Audible version sounds like a negative whiny 12 year old.
I had to stop listening for a few hours after she whinged out "No regular fella asked me out"

The character has always struck me as one of the most positive humans, and the reader sounds like the most downer negative person.

Read this lovely book, but don't listen to it.
