better than expected for technical content.
Revisado: 11-18-21
the narrator was fantastic. the material was really good.
some of the pronunciations drove me crazy though and the editors failed the narrator... silicon... silicone... vast difference. si-lih-kahn... not si-loh-cone... one is sand, one is augmentation material.
other than a few instances of this.
amazing job by the narrator conveying a very good. but very technical text to the listener.
you still need the print or another in print to reference. but this is a great companion resource.

Historia
In Putin’s People, the investigative journalist and former Moscow correspondent Catherine Belton reveals the untold story of how Vladimir Putin and the small group of KGB men surrounding him rose to power and looted their country. Delving deep into the workings of Putin’s Kremlin, Belton accesses key inside players to reveal how Putin replaced the freewheeling tycoons of the Yeltsin era with a new generation of loyal oligarchs, who in turn subverted Russia’s economy and legal system and extended the Kremlin's reach into the United States and Europe.

yup... so not a hoax...
Putin's crew has the cash to buy the world...
the amount of corruption in the Russian government is amazing if 10% of this is true.
and i suspect more like 98% of it is true.
well written. not political. but globally insightful.

little over the top with the sex
Revisado: 05-12-21
the story overall was good. i looked the characters, and the narrator did a great job differentiating so many of them in one story.
but the sex interaction was just a little bit more than I was looking for in a suspense novel.
felt like a graphic romance written for a woman that watches fbi files a lot.

Historia
An online video of a girl clawing at the ceiling of her own grave could be the worst thing FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley has ever seen. Perhaps even more disturbing is the implication of the video’s title: “Experiment Number One.” Zoe and her partner, Special Agent Tatum Gray, work as fast as they can to find the monster behind the shocking video, but soon another one shows up online, and another girl turns up dead.

i just am not a fan of the narrator.
Revisado: 03-20-21
story is good overall.
the main character portrayal of a Boston accent... hard to warm up to being from there. it's overdone. annoying even.
I'll give the author credit that I'll keep listening.
i like the grandfather. that's her best character. once again more credit to the author than the narrator.

i usually love this author's work.
Revisado: 12-21-20
this was a very complex book wher
e i not only struggled to keep up with the characters and very complex, i think, story. it was hard to stay interested.
the racism is tough. the language is rough in ways where it really doesn't propel the story.
i didn't enjoy this one very much.

i really enjoyed the story and characters. I'll continue to follow the series.
i really prefer just the narration to this trend of background music and sound effects.
the style of dick hill is more to my liking. he was my golden standard for narration.
