I highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the Black Madonna, Marian studies, the sacred feminine, our lost and suppressed histories. It is beautiful and riveting.

I listened to this book at a point of desperation. After a lifetime of disordered eating, weight gain and loss, I was at a low point and felt that nothing would "work" for me. I cried as I listened to this book. For the first time in my life, I was listening to someone describe what it felt like to be me. At last, I understood why diets, going to the gym, "intuitive eating", etc. didn't work for me. I understood what was actually going on in my brain and why I had been stuck, for years, in a cycle that made me feel powerless. I began eating to the plan that is clearly laid out in this book. I have lost 50 pounds and feel better physically and emotionally than I ever have in life. I'm forever grateful.

I have watched and read almost everything produced about the Manson family, the murders, the women whose lives were lost or forever changed because of their involvement. Dianne's book is unflinching and deeply fair. She lets you in - to her history, her story - and gives a detailed and honest perspective about why she was attracted to this man and this group of people, the damage done to her, and her healing. She spends some time setting the stage by explaining her family of origin dynamic and early childhood experience, which I found valuable.

This was a fascinating listen! Mary Ann shares her experiences in a down to earth way and her personality really shines through. I learned a lot about the earthbound spirits and the death experience. The best thing about this book is that it's not sensationalism. Even though the subject matter is contact with "dead" people, I could listen to this at night, alone in the dark, without getting freaked out. It's warm and informative, not scary.

I enjoyed the exploration into the Lord's Prayer and the messages for life it contains. Kathleen McGowan is intelligent, interesting, and a good writer. We have slightly different theological outlook on a couple of small points, but this didn't diminish my enjoyment of the book at all. I suggest listening with your journal on hand - as there are exercises given in each section and you'll want to take notes.

As a long time super fan of the podcast, I knew I wanted to listen to this book. It was even better than I thought it would be. In fact, it brought me to tears several times. Georgia and Karen share their lives with vulnerability, authenticity, and humor. They are women I, and many other people, relate to on such a level we have begun to think they are our friends. Maybe they are in a way. Being into true crime is in no way a prerequisite for loving this book.
