So good, but so sad this is the end

I've been following this universe for so long and loved every moment of it. This is still true all the way to the end.
This Finale to to the Ember Wars Universe was very enjoyable and well worth the long ride through all the series Fox has written to get here.

NEEDS TO BE LONGER!!!

Eric's works is always very enjoyable, but I'm used to 12-20hr books. So only getting 7-9 is heartbreaking when the work is as great as it is. I finish every book in both the "Good Guys & Bad Guys" series like an addict that only got half his fix and begin to go crazy waiting for next delivery. just sooo good. Please keep up the great work Eric.
...and for the love of God Eric, please stop delaying the release dates on your books EVERY TIME!

A Re-listen before the Second Book

Definitely a good story and worth checking out, especially for anyone who's checked out its partner series and a few playthroughs before release of sequels are always worth it

I can't believe u guys left the end like that! You kept dropping teasers through out and then leave it with a cliffhanger? You writers are monsters!...very good book and continuation of the series just can't believe they gotta screw us with ending like that! how m I suppose to wait patiently for next book?!?!

interesting world

The world and plot are interesting, taking 1k ppl every few days and dropping them into the ruins of an ancient fantasy city with the objective to survive a couple days and lvl up a bit for a chance to go back home for a little bit with the main mission of securing the altar of the fantasy worlds diety for 1 o the many Earth Gods that're using human avatars to form groups of the 'player' from around the world.
This throws ppl into a world of death without any warning, where one moment ppl are going to bed, then waking up in a desolate city and hunted by the native goblins and even other humans from their world, because they're trying to reach the minimum lvl in time for the dead line, since those who don't won't get to go home ever again.
It's a scary world that leaves everyone wondering who they can trust not to kill them to keep from being trapped in this nightmare forever at the timers end. So int understandable to be very Paranoid and suspicious, but with how emotionless the narrator is it make the MC sound psychotic. Like a robotic killer computing the possibility of ppls betrayal or secret motives and his probable retaliatory or preemptive action to counteract such attacks. Yes, the MC can overthink the dangers of a situation too much but he goes on to admit to himself that those possibilities are overboard and would be jokingly bad options for ppl to take against him.
Definitely worth checking out but will admit narration is painful and can hurt the way situations sound in the story.

Good Book

Great world building and character development, with a narrator that actually puts feeling in the dialog. Only negative I found was that the writer spends too much time explaining just how strong someone is suppose to be and how a regular fight between adversaries of equivalent values tends to play out, right before MC uses time-traveler cheat knowledge to B*slap his way to victory. Great book but needs to work on that point in the future.

Audiobook released just in time to recap last 2 books before release of "Wild Wild Quest" I CANT WAIT!..(*spoiler*)been going nuts waiting to find out if the word in the snow was suppose to be "Thing-men"!!!

Hunger Game for Newly made Gods, whats not to love

Another enjoyable book by Kong. Anyone familiar with Kongs other series will recognize the world mechanics. Even though it can feel repetitive to ppl who have read enough introductions to new LitRPG series its well worth getting through the tutorial phase. I cant wait for the next book and am ever waiting for updates to the original series "Chaos Seeds"

Another great addition to the Extinction Universe!

I've enjoyed this add-on series to the Extinction Cycle the entire way through, the story moves at a good pace and the different view points in the story make for some great moments throughout the series.

For the most part, a very enjoyable read

Charles does a really good job writing a story about dark heroes and can make a really good villian but I found the side character dynamic and growth in this story to be lacking and the end comes to abruptly, but with i guess this can be explained with the authors notes...((spoiler) note for author_ the way nick is treated in this book is fd. everyone treats him like crap and manipulates him and then treats him even crappier when hes not apologetic about getting mad for being treated like crap. I originally thought the situation with nick was going to lead to a growth in both his character and the MC but it has no influence on MC and just leads to nick being more submissive.)
