Historia
Beth and her gentle, kind husband Frank are happily married, but their relationship relies on the past staying buried. But when Beth’s brother-in-law shoots a dog going after their sheep, Beth doesn’t realize that the gunshot will alter the course of their lives. For the dog belonged to none other than Gabriel Wolfe, the man Beth loved as a teenager—the man who broke her heart years ago. Gabriel has returned to the village with his young son Leo, a boy who reminds Beth very much of her own son, who died in a tragic accident.

poor narration ... not a good voice for Virgil
Revisado: 03-27-25
the voice for Virgil was not Virgil, this was crackly, weak. ok one for lucas, terrible women voices.
i was glad to see much less, but not absent, political references.
glad to see Lucas back in Minnesota.
overall pretty good.

good, but

renee is not my favorite Michael Connelly character. however, she has a little less chip on her shoulder than in previous stories. not much harry in this story. a little too much political opinion, really wish authors would stay away from political opinion
