Historia
2067 was the year I died for the first time. It was painful. Had I known how often I'd be expected to die over the next several millennia, I might have made a stronger effort to stay dead. The year actually started off rather nice. I finished my PhD in high energy physics and was promoted to lieutenant commander in the United States Air Force. My first posting after the promotion was to the Lunar One Air Base where I worked with my father, Dr. Robert Kimbridge, on "The Project".

great story, horrible narration
Revisado: 01-27-25
I like this story; it's original and fast paced. The narration, however, is horrible. Think lawyer disclaimer at the end of a TV drug commercial; then speed it up. The sound level is also so low I have my car radio turned to full volume and it is still not loud enough. The final issue is the narrator has some type of lisp that at the speed and volume used makes this a very difficult story to follow, If this were not such a compelling story, I would have returned this audio book within the first few minutes of listening. I tried slowing the speed down, and it just sounds like a fast drunk with a speech impediment. Please get a different narrator or teach this one how to slow down and be more cognizant of his pronunciations. These are also very short audio books of around 5 hours. The price is less if you pay cash, but not a comparison to most of the other audio books on here.

chick flick of alien stories
Revisado: 09-24-24
The moments there is actually interaction with aliens and the main characters is interesting with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the story revolves around a huge host of characters in different factions and how they feel or want to scheme about each other. I kept listening, hoping it would finally get to more of the good stuff, but it never happened. Skip this one.

America was on the brink of collapse. The fabric of society was torn apart. The economy was in shambles. Ordinary Americans experienced death by a thousand cuts, and it was coming soon to your neighborhood.

Disappointment
Revisado: 06-25-24
I normally love Bobby Akart stories, but this one missed the mark. Very slow boring start. Not really likeable characters. I stayed through the first book, but there is no way I'm going to listen to any more. The narration was also not very good. It seemed like a major audio issue. I turned the volume all the way up, but it was still hard to hear without a lot of inflection. I feel a combination of narrator and audio problems.

Complex story environment
Revisado: 04-15-23
Complex story environment has you totally lost for the first few chapters until you start figuring out what’s going on. British accent and colloquialisms contribute to the difficulty following the story. After several chapters of intent listening, you finally start comprehending what’s going on in an interesting, but drawn out story.

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Revisado: 12-06-21
A little confusing to start but extremely well performed and very well written. The description of first contact is excellent and well thought out. I would definitely like more books like this.

wasted story plot
Revisado: 10-25-20
There was such potential for this plot with the set-up in the first free Book. While the story in the second book was interesting as a thriller action story in its own right, it did not take advantage of the unique pandemic plot set-up in the original story. There are so many places you could have gone with the original plot. The second book all surrounds a mass murder that needed to be covered up. Ho hum. Better luck next time.

Pretty juvenile poorly written story with a good kern of plot. Horrible performance, or maybe that is the way it is supposed to be read?

Historia
Every life reaches that crucial intersection, the place where you must choose your fate, or have it chosen for you. For best-selling author Rich Cohen (The Fish That Ate the Whale, The Last Pirate of New York), it came in a writing workshop senior year in college, when, at 17, he had to knuckle under to a ruthless professor or make a righteous, self-defeating stand.

Historia
Is bourbon the quintessential American liquor? Bourbon is not just alcohol - the amber-colored drink is deeply ingrained in American culture and tangled in American history. From the early days of raw corn liquor to the myriad distilleries that have proliferated around the country today, bourbon is a symbol of the United States. This course traces bourbon's entire history, from the 1700s, with Irish, Scottish, and French settlers setting up stills and making distilled spirits in the New World, through today's booming resurgence.
