A decent story, which for a good party of it, is the retelling of book 2 to just from a different POV. I enjoyed the characters development/degeneration so that was an interesting take for me in a general adventure romance!

Beware the music between chapters

The story was good, enough drama and intrigue to round out this story.
The reason for my review however, is just a caution to anyone listening at night, or with headphones, the music between chapters is generally loser then the narration and actually pulls you out of the narrative. Which is sad.

Cliffhanger but good

I got this as part of the plus package, so I jumped into book 5 of the series- wouldn't necessarily recommend that, but the author ensured virtually everything was understandable!

It was an entertaining listen, and I'll be keeping an eye on this series,
However in the last couple minutes, a new plot hook is introduced which leaves the story unfinished, so just a heads up, the story is not over!

I really started disliking these characters.
She ended back as a pushover, and he basically kidnapped her for a romantic holiday refusing to allow her to leave, or him to. There's a fine line between coercion, consent, and romance. this book went the wrong way.

Magnificent story, production hmm

I've loved Ender's Game for years, so was keen to see the new audible cast take on it. The story was reworked well to fit into an audiodrama, I just battled with Ender's voice, it starts with him as at year old, and that got a little lost I found.

I really didn't appreciate the minute long music pieces between chapters, especially when there are no chapter markers so you can't jump back etc. I've never listened to an audible where there are no chapters to speak of... a little difficult to jump back if you lost focus.

but the story is intriguing as always

Now I can see why this book is so short, it seems way before we find out what happens with Talon and his MC. Quite disappointed in this as none of the previous books in the series end unfinished.

volume of the music between chapters ruins it

I enjoyed the story, and the narration. I sometimes did find it a little like listening to TV send felt a little more could have been explained, like there was visuals happening but you obviously couldn't see them.
My biggest disappointment was the music and chapter intro each time, it seemed to get progressively louder than the narration so it was horribly off putting.

No... just no. Its despicable.

Here's the story - girl (think ditsy bimbo too naive to know that), gets kidnapped, sold in a sex slave auction on another planet, basically "consents" to rape. Add in Stockholm syndrome. then there's another kidnapping, attempted rape.

But of course, it all ends ok, because her master really did care so they get married. (heavy sarcasm here).

There's nothing redeeming about this story.

Rape culture is disgusting, so is sexual slavery. but this author promotes and glorifies it? really... how often does the main character essentially go - you're my master, I can't say no to sex so yeah, I'll enjoy it anyway. Stop attempting to justify what you hopefully would be a cute, get to know you love at first sight thing.

I will never listen to this author again, if that wasn't obvious.

Difficult topics should NEVER be so flippantly dealt with.
