This novel was well written and easy to listen to. It moved along smoothly. The characters are fleshed out nicely and the ending is- well - you decide for yourself.

Captivating start to finish!
Revisado: 05-26-21
It’s been a long time since I studied science, math, or chemistry. Listening to this audiobook put everything in perspective in such an interesting way! I was hooked from the book dedication to the ending.
I hope there is a movie based on the book just to be able to see the characters and the interactions between them. I wish it was 10 hours longer!!

The whole premise of this book was stupid and degrading. I thought it would get better towards the end, but it didn’t.

Revisado: 07-28-19
The story is well written and believable. Technical topics are written in such a way that I was able to follow along. Coded references to gaming were a nice touch. The story never dragged on.
And the narrator was superb.
I know I will listen to this again in about 2 years.

Historia
Lou Berney's The Long and Faraway Gone is a smart, fiercely compassionate crime story that explores the mysteries of memory and the impact of violence on survivors - and the lengths they will go to find the painful truth of the events that scarred their lives. In the summer of 1986, two tragedies rocked Oklahoma City. Six movie theater employees were killed in an armed robbery while one inexplicably survived. Then a teenage girl vanished from the annual state fair. Neither crime was ever solved.

Superb story! Riveting!
Revisado: 12-28-16
This story was so well put together. The time lines were easy to keep up with as was the cast of characters. The characters were believable and for the most likable. Even the situations they put themselves in and the feelings expressed were believable. I never got to a part where I thought, 'yeah, like that's going to happen'.
Not one character was portrayed as super smart, ninja-like fighting skills, or extremely rich. They were just regular folks going through life.
I hated to stop listening when I would get to my destination.
The performance was also exceptional. The way they captured the different characters style of talking was magical.
I am going to look for mor from this author.

The story line is captivating...and I learned so much about racing that I have become a fan. I plan to watch NASCAR .
They tell you to write about what you know. Clearly Mr. Stein knows racing.
From start to finish I was captivated. I fell in love with Enzo and want to drive a Ferrari!
The narrator was smooth and easy on the ears...FASTER...

Historia
On a frigid New Year’s Eve in Minneapolis, a young woman’s brutalized body falls from the trunk of a car into the path of oncoming traffic. Questions as to whether she was alive or dead when she hit the icy pavement result in her macabre nickname, Zombie Doe. Unidentified and unidentifiable, she is the ninth nameless female victim of the year, and homicide detectives Sam Kovac and Nikki Liska are charged with the task of not only finding out who Zombie Doe is but who in her life hated her enough to destroy her. Was it personal? Or could it just have been a crime of opportunity?

Got me many miles through Connecticut!
Revisado: 04-14-16
Tami Hoag has become one of my favorites. The story is an easy listen. She didn't loose me with a cast of hundreds. (I still have to concentrate on my driving!) The characters' feelings are well defined and believable. Having become an expert in sexual assault investigations as a police detective Miss Hoag was right on the mark with the feelings depicted in this novel.
The narrator was was excellent as always.
