Historia
The Scottish-born son of a failed weaver and a mother who supported the family by binding shoes, Andrew Carnegie was the embodiment of the American dream. In his rise from a job as a bobbin boy in a cotton factory to being the richest man in the world, he was single-minded, relentless and a major player in some of the most violent and notorious labor strikes of the time. The prototype of today's billionaire, he was a visionary in the way he earned his money and in the way he gave it away.

Is was a fantastic biography
Revisado: 09-15-21
Although a New York Times bestseller this book is very under rated on audible with less than one thousand ratings. It was a thero and impartial biography of one of the most interesting men in America history, he was an example of the stupendous good and the harsh bad in America. He came to America with nothing, working in a cotton mill sweatshop to provide for his family to literally building America producing 90% of the world steel. I never understood how he could be so ruthless in abstaining a unimaginabley fantastic fortune just to give it away as fast as he could. But as the book explains, he had always mean to do the most good he possibly could and and his way of doing so was to make as much as he could to give away as much as he could, in the process cutting the working mans wage and extending he hours and replacing maned labor with higher technology at every step he could, to build thousands of Free libraries across the world, supporting the first black colleges, founding Carnegie Mellon and spending rediculos amounts of money and effort to the completely unachived goal of ensuring world peace, after being completely ignored except for his ability to donate to campaign funds he was sycologicaly crushed by WW1 and fell into a terrible depression form which he died enveloped in.

Andrew Roberts' Napoleon is the first one-volume biography to take advantage of the recent publication of Napoleon's thirty-three thousand letters, which radically transform our understanding of his character and motivation. At last we see him as he was: protean multitasker, decisive, surprisingly willing to forgive his enemies and his errant wife Josephine.

Napoleon was one of the greatest individuals in history and this book gave a very thero insight into his life
Revisado: 08-29-21
I wanted to lean more about Napoleon and found this a very good insight into the life of one of the greatest and most enigmatic men of modern history. It was hard to follow the French names and places at times and could have used a few maps which were probably in the physical book. He was a very incredible person and the greatest military genus of all time as well as an effective statesman and leader. He came from nothing in a time of dismissal opportunity for all but those of noble birth and through un stoppable ambition and genius he became the master of Europe and almost the world.

Historia
Titan is the first full-length biography based on unrestricted access to Rockefeller’s exceptionally rich trove of papers. A landmark publication full of startling revelations, the book indelibly alters our image of this most enigmatic capitalist. Born the son of a flamboyant, bigamous snake-oil salesman and a pious, straitlaced mother, Rockefeller rose from rustic origins to become the world’s richest man by creating America’s most powerful and feared monopoly, Standard Oil. Branded "the Octopus" by legions of muckrakers, the trust refined and marketed nearly 90 percent of the oil produced in America.
