Historia
Mulbridge House stood deep in the woods at the heart of Oakwood, Ohio, long before the passing of Augusta Mulbridge. Yet suddenly everyone in town seems to have a stake in its fate: the greedy heirs, eager to tear it down for a tidy profit; the local preservationists, determined to maintain it as an historic site; and the angry neighbors, staunchly opposed to the construction of a modern subdivision. Even Charley Carpenter is forced to admit that her beloved shop could use an infusion of the estate's treasures.

A Letdown
Revisado: 10-15-17
This series was promising, that is after reading the first book. The second was a letdown. Too much fighting, manipulation, jealousy between the main characters. They had seemed so promising and likeable in the first book. And the profanity and mild sex weren’t really a good addition either. You had a good story otherwise. Implying sexual assault as a joke and the F-bombs were a turn-off. The mystery part of the story itself was intriguing and would have really kept my interest had it not been for the constant stupidity and anger between Charley and Marc. At least the lesser characters were more civilized. I truly hope the author doesn’t ruin the personalities of Dimitri/Frankie/and the rest in the third book - and bring back the likeable Charley and Marc

Enjoyable, wishing for more
Revisado: 04-10-17
This was a lovely book to listen to. The murder was believable yet no gory scenes which is appreciated by this listener. The main characters are easy to warm up to, and I find myself wishing for Cassie to someday see Seth as more than a friend. The biddies add humor, Gemma's mother is becoming more human and less of a robot, and I see the series really developing well.I do hope that the rest of the series will be available for audible listeners soon.

Historia
Deputy coroner Mattie Winston knows everyone in the charmingly small town of Sorenson, Wisconsin - except the latest body discovered in a desolate field. If a woman this attractive had moved into town, the news would have surely hit the gossip mill in record time. So who was the murdered femme fatale? Whose knife was left planted in her chest? The mystery deepens when detective Steven Hurley takes one look at the body and turns as white as the newly fallen snow...and excuses himself from the case.

Story:Good, Narration:Not

The characters and storyline have developed nicely and now hold my interest. Sorry to say I'm likely to not listen to the books remaining in the series due to the narrator. Too many mispronunciations and her unfortunate nasal speech ruin it for me. I will however buy the books to read, the author has done well with the series so far. I wish someone could help the narrator-antihistamines? Nasal spray? I do feel sorry for her, she could do so much better if she had proper treatment.

Historia
When Mattie Winston catches her husband Dr. David Winston receiving some very special loving care from R.N. Karen Owenby, she quits her job and moves out. Mattie's best friend Izzy offers her a place to stay and suggests she'd be a natural as deputy coroner. Now, instead of taking patients' pulses, Mattie's weighing their hearts and livers. But Mattie's first homicide call turns out to be for none other than Nurse Karen, and even though she saw her ex in a heated argument with the newly deceased the night before, she refuses to believe David could be a killer.

Just OK
Revisado: 07-02-16
An ok book, I'm going to give the series one more try before I decide as the first isn't typically the best. The story is ok, fairly interesting, but the narration is embarrassingly bad. The frequency of mispronunciations and the clothespin-on-her-nose quality of the narrator's voice is difficult to overlook. Please, someone teach this narrator to learn how to correctly say carotid. For a medical termed-based mystery the narrator needs to do some homework
