Historia
Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more - a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted. To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne - a socialite and philanthropist - and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale. Amber's envy could eat her alive...if she didn't have a plan.

Narration was horrible
Revisado: 09-08-22
I couldn’t make it through the story due to the narrators. Don’t waste the credit. Story would have been ok otherwise.

Interesting story
Revisado: 03-24-22
Good story line and it kept my interest but it wasn’t a “sit on the edge of my seat” book. It was definitely worth the read though. Great narrator.

Great book. Horrible narrator
Revisado: 02-17-22
The monotone narrator nearly ruined the book. I kept listening but if I wanted to recommend this book, it would be to read not to listen to.

Historia
It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Mothers and children shopped together, and the manager at the video game store tended to customers. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But for those who lived through it, the effects would last forever.

The offensive language ruined the book
Revisado: 05-08-21
If there hadn’t been an extremely high amount of offensive language, the book would’ve been great but every other word you heard seemed like it wasn’t just a curse word it was an extreme curse word. It ruined the book.

First-grade teacher Holly Miller leads a low-profile existence - until she’s recruited to advocate for a cause that’s dear to her heart. Predictable and repetitive
Revisado: 04-09-21
This story could’ve been wrapped up in about an hour and a half. Although the storyline could have been good there was way too much doomsday and gloom with the never ending negativity about whether someone would except the person or not. Halle is supposedly a Christian and yet the way the story presents, Stephen is so scared to tell her about his past that it’s the main focus of the book. When we finally find out what his past held, instead of Holly telling him about God‘s wonderful forgiveness and grace, she walks away and Hass to make a decision of whether she could have a relationship with him. I just got extremely tired of hearing the constant negative doubt from all parties. The narrator was good but that was about the only good thing about the book.

Worst narrator I’ve ever heard
Revisado: 04-03-21
I typically love Patricia Bradley but I was super surprised at this book. It felt choppy end it was very hard to follow but then I couldn’t make it past chapter 6. I honestly tried. I wanted to like the book but I have to say out of over 150 audio books in my library this was the worst narration I’ve ever heard! It was read so slowly and paused in the oddest places that I wanted to pull the words from her mouth. I tried speeding up the audio to 1.1 but then it sounded more strange. It’s odd that write the rating shows almost 5 stars yet if you check in other places there’s multiple people that have stated the same thing I have, worst narration ever. I’m just so surprised since like I said earlier, I usually love Patricia Bradley‘s books. I don’t submit a whole lot of reviews but I certainly had to do this one.
