The lectures were very boring and hard to pay attention to. The lecturer constantly brings up topics and references that have nothing to do with consciousness and his jokes and sense of humor are terrible.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Better layout either by time or regions.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Narrator reminded me of a boring college class that you hate but need the credits.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from 1491?
I would piece it together better.
Any additional comments?
I really thought it would have better structure than this. Very hard to listen to and harder to follow.

If you could sum up Journey to Ixtlan in three words, what would they be?
closure.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Don Genaro.
His teaching style is so different to that of Don Juan. He plays a much more important role in this book.
Which scene was your favorite?
The perceptions of reality without the use of psychotropic plants. (the lost car in particular)
Close second is the details of the feud with Catalina.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Yes. Don Genaro's story at the end made me cry. The insight he gives into the life of a 'Man of Knowledge' was something Don Juan never touched on.
