Great book only wished it were a series

This is a great book and I have read well over 1600 fantasy sword and sorcery books. The idea of the shadow mage and how the magic system worked was unique. I only wish the book was a series. The book is also a good value unlike many authors who only give roughly 250 pages or 8-9 hours of audio book. Hoping Mr Haddock does not fall into same mire as other authors who are more interested in pleasing publishers than readers with content, fully immersing his readers into a world they have created.

I really liked the series and the mechanics of magic; however the introduction of vampires into the story line just just a poor choice of direction for the story.
