Concise guidance on what makes an effective team.

In an entertaining story, he outlines what does and doesn't make an effective team. It's on the shorter side and he could have gone into more detail in the second half of the book, however it give a solid overview.

A must read for anyone who owns a small business
Revisado: 08-28-17
Overall, this is a solid book. The first part is mostly store, set-up and almost hypie. The second part is the good part. It goes into Turnkey type operation and how the key to a successful small business is to systemitize the whole business.

During the last decade, we have witnessed an unparalleled explosion of interest in the practice of "servant-leadership," as today's business leaders search for a new leadership model for the 21st century. Based on the seminal work of Robert K. Good Ideas, I couldn't get behind the presentation
Revisado: 07-25-17
This book came highly recommended from a few other sources that I respect. The concepts in this book are good. However it's presented as more of a philosophical lecture based on someone's experience, rather than a guide of what servant leadership is or how to do it. A lot of the material seem subjective and was expressing how he'd wish this model of leadership would work in the world. Also, I think the narrator talk too slowly.

Valuable insight in how to be Great
Revisado: 01-15-17
I loved this book! They draw out highly valuable insight on what companies do to be great.
The concepts they find are simple (however, doing them isn't) and easy to compare to your environment. This is a must read for any entrepreneur or even people trying to improve their own greatness.

But what about companies that are not born with great DNA? How can good companies, mediocre companies, even bad companies achieve enduring greatness?

Interesting book, although one I probably could have passed up.
He raises some good question and points. However, his ending "hypothesis" is based on his own conjecture. It starts out really cool, then he comes up with a few interesting question. You're hoping it will go down an enlightening path. But, by about halfway through, the book it feels almost occult-esq.
That's why I'm giving it 3 stars. The really thought provoking points are muted by his reaching between information to construct his "hypothesis."
