Historia
Shocking and controversial when it was first published in 1939, Steinbeck's Pulitzer prize-winning epic The Grapes of Wrath remains his undisputed masterpiece. Set against the background of Dust Bowl Oklahoma and Californian migrant life, it tells of Tom Joad and his family, who, like thousands of others, are forced to travel west in search of the promised land. Their story is one of false hopes, thwarted desires, and broken dreams, yet out of their suffering Steinbeck created a drama that is intensely human, yet majestic in its scale and moral vision.

The ending of the story
Revisado: 02-14-25
I liked the character development and vivid descriptions of sights, sounds, smells, feelings and attitudes. The ending of the story is very appropriate because the story of human struggle goes on particularly for people at or near the “poverty line”. Citizens and others living in the United States do not know this part of US history very well or at all because it is not covered nor explained well in our schools, It is not a happy or proud story that is set in the most extreme desperate time to live through or die in the “dust bowl” of the 1930s across the Great Plains this event was the most desperate part of the Great Depression in the United States, Many of the people who were there thought it was going to be the end.

Historia
The tales of The Silmarillion are set in an age when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dwelt in Middle-earth, and the High Elves made war upon him for the recovery of the Silmarils, the jewels containing the pure light of Valinor. Included on the recording are several shorter works. The Ainulindalë is a myth of the Creation and in the Valaquenta the nature and powers of each of the gods is described. The Akallabêth recounts the downfall of the great island kingdom of Númenor at the end of the Second Age, and Of the Rings of Power tells of the great events at the end of the Third Age.

Character descriptions Fairies,Dwarfs, Morgoth, Sauron,
Revisado: 01-06-25
Likes: I could sense the great writing of JRR Tolkien throughout the story. The narrator gave his best effort to be the story teller in the frame of time of the story . Dislikes: as the story progresses character, event and detail development decrease to the point it lacks the quality of the earlier part of the story. Perhaps the story attempts to cover too much time and similar events.

Historia
Between 1861 and 1865, the clash of the greatest armies the Western hemisphere had ever seen turned small towns, little-known streams, and obscure meadows in the American countryside into names we will always remember. In those great battles, those streams ran red with blood-and the United States was truly born.
