Historia
I guess trying to catch the bus with your laces undone isn’t such a smart decision after all… One fatal collision later, and I’m facing my judgment. As it turns out, I’ve been a lazy sob, and my short, uneventful life of playing games and getting up late wasn’t worth much. And so I don’t qualify to move on to the afterlife. I try to argue to the goddess in front of me that I do have skills, that it was hard work playing those simulation and management games. But she will not concede. In the end, I manage to get the benefit of the doubt, and a wager is made.

Looking forward for more
Revisado: 07-31-23
I'm looking forward for the world to grow. This story has some good bones to it but left so much unexplored and untouched. The witches and the dungeon, in particular, beg for more attention. I'll keep tuning in to see where it goes.

Historia
Of course, if there were only one thing under Liscor, there would be far less to fear. However, the dungeon continues to be a threat. At the same time, Goblins continue to roam northern Izril, but not all of them are as hostile to people as Tremborag or the Goblin Lord. Will the Unseen Emperor of Riverfarm make that distinction, however? A reckoning is coming as old faces and new reemerge. And all the while, The Wandering Inn is still serving food and respite and even plays to adventurers and Antinium alike. But something is coming from the dungeons. And it—they—are hungry.

Historia
Qube was designed to die.... As the cheerful childhood NPC companion who helps the [Player] learn the world during the start of the game, it was only natural that the big bad would kill her at the end of the tutorial, kick-starting the [Player] on a quest for vengeance. The only thing is, no one told her that.... And this particular [Player] doesn’t like to play by the rules. Being a chaos-loving gremlin, he glitches her out of her programming loop and drags her on various adventures. They'll grapple with friendly sharktopuses, evil emperors, and what it means to be a person.

Slow pace but worth it
Revisado: 10-15-22
This one is very much focused on watching characters grow and change over time. Their progress can be slow and frustrating at different points but I love the direction the book seems to be heading.
Squiggles is by far my favorite character and I look forward to seeing more of her as the series grows.
SSSL scenes and expressions are some of the most interesting, off-putting, and hilarious bits of narration I've ever encountered. Thank you so much for thinking of her.

It's raining in Liscor. The spring rains have come and Liscor's entire geography changes with the dawning of the new year. The Floodplains of Liscor live up to their name, and the only way anyone is going to travel is by boat. With the rains come more monsters, dungeon delving, more goblins...not to mention some unwanted attention for the Wandering Inn.

Historia
The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

Holy cow this series is and remains fantastic. I had some issues with the ending feeling a little rushed prior to the Epilogue, but otherwise this is another stellar inclusion in a stellar series.

Historia
The city of Celum is not much like Liscor at all. While Erin is surrounded by familiar, human faces, she’s far from home and without her inn. At the same time, a certain ill-tempered Lyonette is squatting in Erin’s inn, and Goblins are on the move. The Goblin Lord’s threat reaches across the entire region, and the Redfang tribe has rallied against him with the Floodplains tribe, although their Chieftains do not agree on some crucial matters. This winter, there is only snow, Goblins, magic, and iambic pentameter.

Wandering Inn keeps getting better
Revisado: 12-28-21
Andrea Parsneau's performance was better than ever in this book. She continues to impress with her wide range and believable characters, and her injection of humor and wit into the cast make this incredible story that much better.
As I listen to any of the Wandering Inn, I start each chapter upset at the change of POV as the characters or locations switch... Only to get sucked in and upset all over again at the next change. So many cliffhangers!
Overall, the characters are growing as people and making more intelligent choices as the story progresses. It's nice to see them grow and change over time (and honestly, if you don't enjoy that kind of thing, this probably isn't the series for you).
I greatly appreciate the ingenuity of the author, especially in regards to adventurers, dungeons, monsters, and such. I also appreciate that they are not the main focus of the books because that would make the series so extremely dark and depressing - adventurers get the shortest end of the stick in this world and are well and truly at horrible risk at all times. I haven't seen any other series truly master that concept as completely as the Wandering Inn, and it makes such a fantastical world very grounded in reality.
If I had one complaint with the work, it would be that so many characters from Earth share the same levels of convenient yet obscure knowledge, but so much of it ends up being interesting and entertaining that it's not hard to look past.

Worth the investment
Revisado: 11-25-21
Gotta tell you, I had some trouble in the beginning. I never realized how much I hated hearing the word "Liquid" over and over until I finished the first few chapters. I almost wrote off the book just for how dumb the main character seems at times, but I stuck it through because I liked some of the ideas the world came with.
I'm glad I did. By the time I got to the end, i found myself searching for a sequel right away, which is always the real test for any book for me. The world improves and solidifies as the story goes on. The characters improve a lot, even though the main character is still kind of an idiot. Mer is probably my favorite character, and most scenes with him are great fun.
I feel like the next book in the series will far outshine this one. The book felt strongly like the author was figuring the world out as he went. If you like LitRPG, especially Cultivation, give this one a try regardless.

Historia
Accidentally murdered by a cleric in another universe during a botched resurrection, Arnold, a semi-pro gamer, wakes upon an altar to find himself incarnated into the overweight body of a farmer who could have been his fatter twin. He’s not the hero. He’s not the villain. He’s certainly not the chosen one who is there to save the world. He’s a clerical error. It could be a bad joke, but apparently, it happens so often that they have a standard procedure for returning you.

Just buy it, you won't regret it
Revisado: 09-18-21
Extremely well done and very original. Moments were memorable and hilarious with a great concept and original, rational characters and problems. There's enough variation with what's going on that there's definitely a plot line for everyone tucked away in here.
The stage is set for many great sequels, which I will gladly pick up immediately.
It goes without saying, but Travis Baldree is amazing and delivers nothing but perfect work yet again.

Revisado: 07-04-21
The characters interact great together and it's an entertaining ride the whole way through. Come for the stat grinding, stay for the snarky banter.
Only pet peeve for me was the main character getting WAY too excited over super minor gains. "What!? Half a percent more charisma when trading with npc's??? Game changer!! I will rule the world!"
Travis Baldree again dominates here with his singular skill.
Absolutely worth the listen all around.

The days of traveling martial artists and mountaintop masters are over. Power is controlled by corporations, modernized martial arts sects, and governments. Those at the bottom of society struggle as second class citizens in a world in which power is a commodity. Rick is a young fighter in this world. He doesn't dream of immortality or becoming the strongest, just of building a better life for himself and his sister, who suffers from a spiritual illness. Unfortunately, life isn't that easy.

The epilogue alone is worth the purchase
Revisado: 06-04-21
I really enjoyed this book. The characters felt real, their dialogue and relationships were believable and warm.
The author went out of her way to make sure the main character didn't have major, inexplicable power jumps. Everything comes at a price - either hard work, brutal beatings, or some of the main characters' scarce funds.
The story has plenty of funny moments, but it's a more serious read overall.
The April fools chapter included after the epilogue was hilarious, and I loved the little surprise Easter egg.
Going to start book 2 right away!
