Historia
This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

This is now my favourite book.
Revisado: 09-22-14
Where does The Name of the Wind rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
#1 without a doubt. I loved it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
In most stories, I usually shy away from the main character. They're too predictable as a stereotypical good guy hero or something. Kvothe is something else entirely and I loved it.
Which character – as performed by Nick Podehl – was your favorite?
Kvothe
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Oh god no. I don't even think that's possible. It's too heavy and immersive.

Nailed it. I loved this book.

If you're a geek in any context you will love this book. I'm usually not a fan of Scott's work but with Luke Daniels AMAZING performance this is bottled lightning. I honestly thought there was a full cast at times. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Historia
Everyone wants to escape their boring, stagnant lives full of inertia and regret. But so few people actually have the bravery to run - run away from everything and selflessly seek out personal fulfillment on the other side of the world where they don’t understand anything and won’t be expected to. The world is full of cowards. Tim Anderson was pushing 30 and working a string of dead-end jobs when he made the spontaneous decision to pack his bags and move to Japan.

Fun and wacky story for japanophiles
Revisado: 07-11-14
What did you like best about Tune In Tokyo? What did you like least?
I liked the author relatability, he rarely talked himself up. However I did not like his flowery "poetic" tangents.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It was okay. I was hoping for juuuuust a bit more.
Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?
Roy from philadelphia. Spot on.
Did Tune In Tokyo inspire you to do anything?
It actually did! I'm honestly considering going over to Japan and teaching English now.
Any additional comments?
Decent budget read.

Historia
Social media is but one of five converging forces that promise to change virtually every aspect of our lives. You know these other forces already: mobile, data, sensors and location-based technology. Combined with social media they form a new generation of personalized technology that knows us better than our closest friends. Armed with that knowledge our personal devices can anticipate what we'll need next and serve us better than a butler or an executive assistant. The resulting convergent superforce is so powerful that it is ushering in an era the authors call the Age of Context.

Interesting points with poor delivery.
Revisado: 07-11-14
Scoble and Isreal have a lot to say and many interesting points we should all think about. However, the organization and delivery of this book made it borderline impossible for me to follow.

Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy

Historia
Hank is a thug. He knows he's a thug. He has no problem with that realization. In his view the galaxy has given him a gift: a mutation that allows him to withstand great deals of physical trauma. He puts his abilities to the best use possible and that isn't by being a scientist. Besides, the space station Belvaille doesn't need scientists. It is not, generally, a thinking person's locale. It is the remotest habitation in the entire Colmarian Confederation. There is literally no reason to be there.

A new favourite author of mine.
Revisado: 07-11-14
What made the experience of listening to Hard Luck Hank the most enjoyable?
My favourite thing about Screw the Galaxy is the believability of the dialogue. I want a story that takes me away and puts me in another galaxy. I don't want space poetry, just an awesome kickass story that makes me feel good. Screw the Galaxy did just that and I found my self laughing out loud everyday.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Hard Luck Hank?
I really can't decide. The book has such a smooth progression with multiple climaxes.
Which character – as performed by Liam Owen – was your favorite?
"Haaank... duuuh..." - Liam's performance of Hank is stellar. He sounds EXACTLY how his character is described, and matches the dialogue effortlessly (or so he makes it sound that way at least.). However, Liam does lack variation. The characters all sound very different from hank, but women and lesser characters tend to sound similar to each other. That being said, Liam still seals the deal with this story. His delivery is outstanding.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes.
Any additional comments?
An excellent lighthearted combination of "science fiction, comic book, detective noir, and deadpan humor" that left me wanting more.
