Historia
Mickey Hayward dreams of writing stories that matter, but, for now, her days are filled with listicles about lip gloss and click-bait articles about celebrity haircare. Still, the job is flashy and her girlfriend is steady and supportive. The path may be long, but Mickey’s well on her way, and it’s far from the messy life she left behind in Maryland. Everything finally seems to be falling into place—until she finds out she’s being replaced.

I think Mickey's professional experience is relatable to so many BW. The direction of the story took a different turn than what I expected but I still found the journey relatable.
The narrator was engaging although she mispronounced New Carrollton and Bowie, MD!

Can Phylicia Rashad narrate more of these books?
Revisado: 03-28-21
I don't write many reviews but decided to do so after finished Who Asked You. I absolutely loved Phylicia Rashad's narration, it was perfect. I'm not sure how she came to narrate this book but I would like her to do more, her narration kept me deeply engaged in the story, she was perfect.

Historia
In one memorable The Simpsons moment, Homer laughs hysterically at a standup comic, pausing only to gasp, "It's true, we're so lame!" In a sense, that is author Chris Turner's main thesis: Over the last 15 years, The Simpsons has chronicled the absurdities and the defining events of an increasingly confusing culture.

I enjoyed this book but I did find the narrator's Simpsons impersonations cringe worthy. I think I would have preferred if the narrator avoided the character impersonations and read them in his normal voice but I literally cringed during each impersonation. They were that bad.
The author did provide social commentary about the Simpsons often including his personal commentary which I didn't mind since he was providing background for the generation the Simpsons defined. I think he tied the social commentary in well with the Simpsons episodes as well as character overviews. I wouldn't consider Turner a premier authority on The Simpsons but I would read an updated edition of this book reflecting the Simpsons current seasons.

Crimes of this audiobook
Revisado: 11-18-18
Crimes include deception, annoyance, boredom, and cheesiness.
I decided to leave a review because most of the reviews were complaints about this title not being the actual audiobook. As only one other reviewer stated I knew this was not the audiobook when I pre-ordered. I was excited about the documentary style of this audiobook. I buy the companion books to the Wizarding World movies and thought I could listen as I viewed The Art of Fantastic Beasts - Crimes of Grindlewald and The Archive of Magic - The Film Wizardry of The Crimes of Grindlewald.
I'm not sure if the target audience for this title are children and new audiobook listeners but I felt extremely annoyed listening. It was too much. The narration was over the top. I felt like I was trapped on the set of a children's show in a horror movie. The sound effects made me feel like I was trapped in some bizarro cartoon realm. This was the first time I was excited that an audiobook wasn't longer.
